Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe breakfast left a lot to be desired. All of the hot items were pre-cooked and lukewarm, which was not very inviting.
Convenient to downtown Charlottesville . Nice amenities in the suite. Pool was good.

United StatesI prefer to have a shower in the pool. When you should take a shower before entering the pool, it is not too handy take it in the room.
The hotel is very easy to find, with a big parking. We appreciate the pool. There was a fridge, microwave, and coffemaker in our room. The staff was very kind and helpful. As my partner forgot his phone in the room, they found it and had it ready for us when we came back to pick it up. Breakfast was tasty and rich. The hotel is close, walking distance from Main Street and the old center of Charlottesville.

United KingdomThe tea wasn't good. Lack of cutlery/crockery if coming down later to breakfast. Juice availability got less by the day....by day 4 there was only 1....and that wasn't very nice. A small kettle in the room would have been good.
Proximity to downtown and easy walk to places we wanted to go to. Buffet breakfast included. Hot drinks are available 24hr. Clean. Comfy bed. Iron available.

United StatesMain lobby, outdoor seating area and hallways (carpet) a bit worn and not always tidy. No one wiped breakfast tables between guests as they came and went from the buffet. Should not charge extra for parking and WiFi in C’ville.
Proximity to downtown mall. Comfortable bed with down pillows. Large room (didn’t expect to get a kitchenette, 2 queen beds and office space with sofa).

United States$10 for parking the car in front of the hotel? Odd. Breakfast was meh.
Sizable rooms with fridge, microwave, tableware, etc are great for family trips when you are getting tired of eating out… even though the restaurants are just a 10 minute walk away!

United StatesWe were charged $10 for parking. I did not see that when booking but when I looked it over it said it was $8.00 Also, we were told they would not charge the credit card until check out and they could split charges between two cards.. They charged the card anyway and then did not know how to split the charge. Two cards got charged in full and see waiting for one to be refunded.
The close location to downtown. The breakfast area was clean.

United StatesI'm fairly certain the sheets on the bed had not been changed since the pryer guest's stay. They were wrinkled in a way that indicated someone had previously slept on them. It was late when I discovered this, so I slept on the other side of the bed. I also had to pay $10 per night for parking in their unsecured lot, which was disappointing.
The room was spacious and well appointed.

United StatesI was not charged the rate that Booking.com gave me, which stated it covered taxes and fees. The excess was charged to my card without my approval. The front desk said that Booking.com never estimates the city tax correctly. I wonder if this location just needs to go into their account and update it themselves? There is still COVID info on the site, so that is my suspicion.
I like that it is pet friendly and has a fire pit in the front that stays lit.

United StatesIt's a bit pricey. The cleaning staff are rude. We did not want them to disturb us since we came back very late every evening and did not get up early during the day. We hung the sign of "don't disturb" outside room, but they ignored it and knocked on the door loudly and shouted impatiently. This is the only thing we're dissatisfied with the hotel. Other than that, everything serves well.
The room is spacious, quiet, and very comfortable. The kitchenette really helped for us to keep food fresh. The location is great, very close to almost everywhere in downtown.

United StatesThe cost was extremely high - this is a fine hotel to stay in, but the hotel itself is purely practical. The cost would suggest the hotel itself is a destination.

United StatesThree things. 1. Annoyed that there was a $10/day parking fee that was not disclosed when we booked the hotel. We have not experienced such undisclosed fees at other booking.com brokered properties. 2. We were annoyed by being awakened during the night because of sirens from a nearby firehouse and train noise from a nearby train track. Fortunately, the front desk gave us a new room for the 2nd night of our stay. 3. The hotels refused to add Hilton Honors points to our account because we booked through Booking.com. Other hotels do so.
Breakfast was better than those found at other chains but not the same standard I have experienced in Asian and European hotels. Very clean. Spacious rooms. Small kitchen, etc.
