Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe railroad is only about a block away so it could be very loud at times, especially with early morning train routes. Our door was a few steps away from the pizza place next door, and unfortunately their garbage collection spot was fairly close, but we couldn't smell it from inside the unit. Public parking was easy to find, but $15 a day added up. Despite these small downsides, I would gladly rebook for our next trip.
Our unit was essentially a 1-bedroom apartment which was more than we expected! It was great having a kitchen and ample living space, closets, and a living room separate from the bedroom. We were unable to set up the Roku in the bedroom, but the one in the living room was fine. We were on the ground floor, and enjoyed having a private entrance to our unit, so we didn't have to go through the lobby or use the lift every time we were coming or going. Staff was very friendly and the unit itself was cozy. Bed & couch were both comfortable after long days of walking/hlking. Nearby to shops, restaurants, hiking, and orchards & fruit stands around Hood River Valley.

United StatesI know it's a historic hotel, but a small fridge in the room would have been nice. I had leftovers and the tiny ice bucket would not keep them cool. Place is pretty pricey, but it's Hood River in the summertime, after all.
Great location downtown. Love the historic vibe. Bed was quite comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant looked fun although I didn't eat there.

United StatesJust before main tourist season. Pfriem brewery and other places along waterfront already getting a little crowded and rude, even on Monday and Tuesday. The rest of town was nice. I had to bike along freeway to get to the new Mitchell point tunnel path, then hiked from Viento Park to get to the new section of path. The tunnel was fun, but it was a dangerous route between hood river and Viento along a narrow shoulder without a car. If you travel by bike from cascade locks, to the east, 3 the route goes on a quiet wooded road over a big hill for part of the way. In spite of the hurdles, I had a good adventure overall. The room at Hood River Hotel was a nice part of it.

United StatesIt's a wonderful location right downtown, with several excellent coffee shops and restaurants within several blocks. The lobby is a treat; they really do make an effort to make things comfortable and interesting. We loved our room on the third floor; staff kindly moved us up from a ground-floor room.

United StatesThe dogs barking at night woke us up a few times and the walls were very thin. We could hear the drunk neighbors in the from next to us talking about their dui’s when they came back to their rooms at 11 and then again at 3 am. The dogs barked both times but also they turned on music and were loud…on a Tuesday night.
The restaurant is great we have stopped to eat there several times over the years. We did not this time.

United StatesYou could hear everything in the hotel. Walls are thin. It was still a nice stay and I slept great.
I liked the hotel, but you had to park a block away and pay for parking. It's pay parking all over Hood River. It wasn't that far of a walk to the hotel from the car. The view was weird and looked at a wooden crate and random items- maybe they were cleaning up the area balcony?

United StatesOur room was tiny with no place to lay out our suitcase. Bathroom is definitely not for a tall person. I would choose a bigger room the next time

United StatesThe trash can symphony at 4:45 am was not ideal to wake up to after a 12 hour drive to Hood River. The cool air needed to keep us comfortable was provided by the open windows which turned out to be a great alternative to the alarm we had set for 7:30 am to be sure we attend to our car before being ticketed for parking in the meter reading zones. There is no other option than to find street parking and hope to wake up early enough to relocate and pay the fees. This hotel does not provide any type of parking. My only recommendation is that you don’t stay here when trash day is the following morning!! We were shocked by how long and how loud the clanging of glass and metal could last!! In a way, it was comical!! But we really did need the beauty rest.
The location was historic and dreamy. Especially at night! Extensive sights and sounds of the night life were exhilarating to our twelve year old daughter who sat at the window and soaked it all in. Beds were comfortable and although the space was older, it was pristine clean without question!! Fun atmosphere throughout the building, and ghostly vibes in hallways and elevator (which we loved!) The decor was impressive with little touches that made it even more intriguing.

United StatesWish that there was AC.
Location was in the heart of Hood River, so it was very convenient. However, the room I stayed in was quite old, but it was probably on me for not checking that it was a historic hotel. There was no AC in the room, but because of when I went, opening the windows were sufficient.

United StatesThis was our second time staying in the hotel. The first time was a great experience however, this time we were in a room at the back of the hotel which also faces the train tracks. Needless to say, we had a somewhat sleepless night. Would still stay at this hotel, just recommend asking for an interior or front facing room.
Cute boutique hotel in a great location in Hood River.
