Pam met us at check-in and was warm and informative. Horizon is beautifully situated away from the hurly-burly of downtown Carmel while only a few minutes away on foot. We enjoyed the happy hour of local wines and cheeses, the roominess of our room, the gas fireplace, and available parking. There was also a small hot tub for a good soak. The bedding was elegant. We had a hard time, though, adjusting to the pillows--either too big or too small and soft. We thought the window was locked in place but later figured out that it was merely stuck (Room 112). We liked the overhead fan, multiple mirrors, great shower. The robes were stylish but polyester and too warm. Overall, highly recommended.

GermanyThe room felt a little tired and didn't have the freshest smell. The bed was impossible for 2 people to sleep in - so bouncy that when one person moved / turned the other woke up. We didn't sleep very well at all. The room had no AC (no problem for us, just a remark). The room was pretty dark.
The staff was very friendly, the free breakfast in a basket was a nice touch with some fresh options. The room was clean and we even had an ocean view. The air was so nice and fresh! The location is great - just a couple of blocks from downtown, but a nice and quite street. The free parking was such a perk as there is limited parking in the area.

United StatesThe cost of the suite was $500 per night which was super expensive once we saw the room. It was very outdated and not spotless clean which you'd expect for that price. We had a great time overall but the breakfast was also lacking for the price... a basket at your door with fruit, boiled eggs, cantaloupe, bread and OJ basically. Better than nothing but still for the price of the room it was lacking.
The location was really nice and safe, super quiet too. The room was quaint and tucked away where nobody else was really. It was like a cottage/air b&b type vibe, I felt safe going across the street to smoke at night. I loved the modern hot tub, view and little kitchen area provided. There is a box fan in the room which was also nice for white noise at night.

Everything about this place is designed for ease and comfort. We had everything we needed in the room and the bed was very comfortable. We used the spa a lot.
