To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaOur vehicle was, along with several others, broken in to. Nothing was stolen as we didn't have any valuables in it, but the driver side window was shattered and we have to pay to have that fixed. No security cameras, thought it was a decent neighborhood to stay in!!!

United States of AmericaThe staff was very rude ! They were never at the desk when needed . Upon check in the lady at the desk was very rude like she had an attitude. Didn’t understand why and after I paid for the room she gave me the key and receipt then walked away … I wasn’t informed of where my room was , how to access it , what time breakfast would be , WiFi , etc .. none of the standard things usually you would hear once checking into a room . After that i never saw anyone at the desk . My husband even tried to get someone but it was like a ghost town so glad we didn’t have any emergencies … the extra people standing around not knowing if they were staying or just got in from the outside cold ..
Loved the easy access to it and that it wasn’t too hard to find .

United States of AmericaIt was not as clean as I expected. There was trash on the floor under one of the beds, the kitchen (especially the stove top burners) were dirty. The bathroom had a pee smell in it even after we wiped down everything and sprayed Lysol. The floors are a dark hardwood so I guess they don’t think it needs to be mopped. My feet were dirty in less than 5 mins (seriously looked like I had been walking outside barefoot for an hour)
Staff was nice. Hotel was in a convenient location. Price was decent for the area and time of year. Parking was included in the room cost.

United States of AmericaI wasn’t able to pay with cash. Seem to be a lot of people hanging out outside and that made me a little uncomfortable. Also, I’m not sure if I was across from a room for staff, but the door across the hall must have slammed loudly a good 20 times in four hours.
