I was nervous because my daughter and I booked the smallest room to save money. Turned out to be great and space was not an issue. It was sparkling clean, comfortable, and very attractive. The bathroom was very spacious. There was an upstairs and downstairs hotel balcony where you could have a drink or a bite to eat and they had spray misters to keep you cool. There was also a nice indoor bar area and a dining room. Parking was not a problem with a hotel lot and street parking. Staff was super friendly and helpful with questions. We were able to walk to everything in town.

More choices for breakfast! Room needs updating! Not all plugs worked and lighting was not good especially in bathroom over mirror!

Staff very welcoming & friendly. Food was excellent and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere in the bar. Room was quiet for a good night’s sleep 💤

Housekeeping need attention we stayed 2 nights and came back after a day out to find our room not only unlocked but not cleaned or refreshed with towels etc. Having said that the manager soon sorted it out promptly. A couple of small things could improve the room we were in, a bedside lamp and a small fridge. We still enjoyed our stay hear and would come back.

TV was difficult to figure out!!

The staff was very friendly, warm, and accommodating. When my room TV burned out they moved me to a better room right away at no extra charge.

Not all rooms have a mini fridge and none have a microwave. Those are both nice to have in your room for longer multi day stays.

I thought it was a nice hotel but way too expensive for what we got. We got a full size room which is the size of a small bedroom for $214. Way too expensive.

The room and the price. I feel like the hotel took advantage of a wedding that was going on that weekend to drive the prices up.

We like the old hotel charm. It’s nice to have a restaurant and bar there. The Copper Room speakeasy was fun too.

The lighting in the bathroom could have been better. It was too dark for applying makeup.

Staff is lovely, location is right in town and fun history. Restaurant has great food and the hotel cave bar is fun — and the only place open late night in town.

Mattresses aren't firm; sensitive to motion.

Our whole floor was very quiet. The room was cute and staff were very friendly. Our dinner in the restaurant downstairs was really tasty and a great value for what we were served. I appreciated that the room had a ceiling fan because the day was 100 degrees, so the A/C and fan kept us cool.

The TV wasn’t the best, and the mattress and bed were hard and rickety.

First night was rough (we got moved and it was quickly and kindly taken care of) as balcony was LOUD and AC didn’t work.

Beautiful and charming hotel in the most perfect location! Each room is unique with its own special touch. Food and drinks in the hotel restaurant were delicious and we loved the historic/chic ambiance. The town is absolutely adorable, like a hallmark movie with many great shops. We will definitely stay again!!

Liked everything about it. F&B; customer service; quiet in middle of small, cute town; clean room; nice shower; coffee in room; msg & chocolate greeting on bed; midweek price.

Full bed is advertised, so nothing wrong at all, however a couple would appreciate a queen bed in the small room. Then again, there is probably a queen option for an extra charge.

One needs to keep in mind that Hotel Sutter is very, very old. Rebuilt in 1867 after the original building burned down. It was a very fun place to stay and the employees were very helpful, going the extra mile for us to make sure we were well taken care of. The room, although small was quite comfortable with the air conditioning very quiet and working well. The hotel upgrades are nice and the newish elevator, although slow is in excellent condition. We were fortunate with parking for the three nights we were there to get parking right in front of the hotel. Two spaces on the street were available there and each night we were able to use one of them.
