The use of single use plastic at breakfast is disgraceful. Such a waste & no recycling. Environmentally negligent Reception staff are helpful but lack personality & are not very welcoming. Like their job is a chore & they go through the motions but don't want to be there I asked to check out at noon ,& housekeeping knocked on my door 3 times before then. Shows lack of communication between reception & staff

The staff ere very friendly. I really enjoyed the daily free wine and cheese in the lobby from 5pm-7pm. Loved to see the iguanas hanging out by the pool.

$30/day for onsite parking (not noted on booking.com entry, only "no parking"), reception staff were unfriendly and acted lazy and put-upon that they had to work (especially the afternoon/evening person) More minor notes: mattress on metal frame squeaked loudly when I'd turn even slowly, nearby roosters start cockeling at 5am, early morning construction noises while I was there, loud refrigerator, no elevator to upper floors, housekeeping only every other day, hotel is right under Navy Base flight pattern

Reasonable price by Key West standards, excellent location minutes by foot to Hemingway House, Southernmost Point pillar and Duvall Loop bus stop, clean facilities, free breakfast with good choices, free wine and snacks happy hour 5-7pm, very nice small pool and jacuzzi on-site, nice selection of toiletries

Room was old & dirty, smelled overwhelming of bleach & moldy towel. Had to shower with shoes on, bathroom was rough. One of the towels smelled so bad we didn't use it & really grossed us out.

The downside is that the facility was built in 1886. The rooms can be very small. We had a queen room which was very small with a small bathroom. The number of available electrical outlets were limited and there are no USB outlets. We actually had to move the bed to access free outlets. Since we only used the hotel as a base of operations, and the weather was nice, we did not spend much time in the room, so the cramped quarters were only an issue when we were preparing to go out. NOTE: There are Iguanas that come out by the pool in the afternoon. Please do not feed them - it can cause them to become aggressive.

Overall, a good hotel and positive experience. The hotel is clean, has two (small) pools, offers a hotel-style breakfast and happy hour with wine, cheese and crackers, and nut mix. The staff is, for the most part friendly and helpful. The location is 1/2 block from Duval St - we parked our car when we arrived and did not access it again until we left four days later.

Staff are not welcoming, walk around very indifferent, not friendly or engaging, often speaking their own language. Housekeepers were very noisy in the morning whilst unloading their equipment. No consideration for sleeping guests or anyone relaxing by the pool. It sometimes felt like you were eating in the staff canteen as they would often come in during breakfast to get food and drinks and then disappear into a back room. Such a shame as this is a great property and one of the best we have stayed in. This is our 7th visit to KW now. But this shouldn't put you off staying here and I hope my comments will be taken on board. Its an easy fix...

Pools were great. Property was beautiful. Breakfast was basic. Starbucks was nice. Wine and cheese hour was a nice touch, but wine was horrible. Loved my cute little attic room. Just the two flights of narrow steep stairs were rough. Made it work though. The location was amazing. Right downtown. I walked everywhere. All in all I would stay again. Thank you for the experience. Needed the get away.

The facility was somewhat outdated. The flooring was damaged and tiles need to be replaced. The grout in the bathroom floor needed thoroughly scrubbed.

Location. Walking distance to many The pool area was nice. The complimentary breakfast was appreciated. Coffee and tea were available 24 hrs/day. Happy Hour was an added touch.

Room was a little small, and no closet. We made it work. The room had a window shaker AC unit, that seemed like it was working pretty hard to keep the room cool. The staff was helpful, but sometimes you felt like you were intrupting them. Like all places in Key West: You may find a nicer place to stay but you will not pay more. I thought maybe this place was a part of the Southernmost Resort, which is a very nice place, but I found no connection. I was hoping to use some of their amenities. This was just a misconception on my part.

Great location and a nice, "kind of private", pool and courtyard. The room had a good size refrigerator. The provided breakfast was good. The private balcony was nice. The courtyard / pool had Iguanas, lizards, and birds that kept you amused. There was a Happy Hour with wine and cheese that was a nice surprise. The location is awesome. Rent a scooter and get anywhere on the island quickly.
