The air conditioning was “central” and worked very well. It would be helpful if the vents could be closed to reduce the cold air as needed. They could also do an upgrade on the towels without breaking the bank.

It looks like they never clean the room. Dust and cobwebs. Hair was on the bathroom floors and shower floor. Good thing I brought my own cleaning supplies. When we arrived, the attendant wasn't so pleasant either. We stayed for one night, so we didn't complain too much.

A quality breakfast was served in a nice dining area. Though parking is available onsite for a charge, we had no problem finding free on street parking in front of the inn.

Our room was spacious with two queen beds, as that is the deal we got on booking.com. It was rather dark due to the window being small with heavy window treatment. The main reason i gave eight out of 10 is that one of the queen beds was very old and you could tell to look at it with the comforter on that it was saggy and lumpy. Luckily, the other bed was firm and comfortable so nobody had to use the uncomfortable one. Also, Victorian furniture in the common areas was sometimes saggy and uncomfortable. But the common spaces are big and beautiful. We were glad to see a secured parking lot, but we did have to pay $25 per night for that.

This location was great. We did use Ubers because it was too hot to walk over a mile for different events. It is extremely near all the sports stadiums, but situated in a beautiful condo section with bits of greenery/landscaping. It was a short jog down one main road with wide sidewalks to the river for a morning run. The inn itself is beautiful, with original Flooring, molding around windows, etc. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The bathroom was modernized for being in such an old building. It was large and attractive. The continental breakfast was appreciated.

Very hot in the room and it eventually cooled down in the evening. No instructions on the operation of the shower. Very confusing 😕 Dusty and not very clean in the top room.

I would have rated The Inn a 10, but the mattress we slept on was awful. We did not sleep well because it was not comfortable.

Given the price point, I definitely expected the room to be cleaner. There were dustbunnies in the corners and the shower was grimy. I think a bit more care in cleaning would go far to improve the experience. The vibe at the front door is very unwelcoming.

Beautiful interior and decoration, and the use of the well-stocked and high-quality kitchen was much appreciated.

Even with the knowledge that the inn is an old building, it appeared to need a little extra TLC. It did not have all the spit and polish I've experienced in other similar inns. None the less, I'm glad we chose this inn.

Janiece was pleasant and accommodating after our initial snafu regarding check in time. I had called the day before asking for a place to change clothes....did not need the room until later but had an wedding to attend across town at 4:30. Whoever I talked to said yes, and apparently the information wasn't shared. The bathroom was amazing with the huge shower. Rooms were very clean and beds comfortable.

The historic house is extremely convenient to sports and theater venues in Detroit. Our room was huge and comfortable, nice modern bathroom, and the staff was fantastic and friendly. The house is well kept and our room was very clean.

Nothing really!

Excellent location to the arena if traveling for a hockey game. Staff was very friendly, rooms were clean just older (i.e. carpet). The older feeling was expected though.
