Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

It's in an old building that was converted to an inn in the 1800's. The rooms and bathrooms have all been updated.

United StatesTrying to figure out how the tv service worked + waiting for connections was tedious. Also no comfortable sitting chair. Laying on the bed was only option.
Hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Mercersburg. Very walkable area. Hotel also has an interesting history and the one staff member I chatted with (she does pretty much everything here) was well versed in the history. Room was clean + comfortable.

United StatesThis was an extremely disappointing stay. When we arrived there was no signage of where to go, how to check in, etc. We walked into the hotel’s restaurant and asked how we were supposed to check in and they let us know they would get a manager. A manager with a laptop met us in the seating area to check us in by confirming our name. He mentioned we should have been talked to by another member of the staff already that there was construction going on and they “upgraded” our room. We walked up three flights of stairs and through construction on the second floor to get to our room that had no garden view as we booked. It was more of a suite than a room, but not much of an upgrade. I believe this room may have had some type of renovations lately as there was a kitchenette and newish couch, but needed much more upgrading in the bathroom and bedroom. The bathroom was uncomfortable and the shower was extremely small, rusted, and NO hot water, at all. The bedroom was big enough for just the queen bed that had two pillows. To get on the bed you have to climb over the railing at the end and climb up, as there is no room to walk on either side. There was a TV with a remote that you could only go up and down the channels. We wanted to go grab an item from our car, but decided it wasn’t the best idea, as you have to walk down a completely dark alley to get to the parking area behind the building. If you leave in the evening, you have to remember a guest code as they lock the doors to the building because there is no staff present at night. You must also lock the main door behind you before heading to your room. We were excited that check out was not until noon, but were met with an 8 AM sharp wake up call when construction started below us, constant banging and grinding that filled the entire room. When we left mid morning, there were construction bags and tools all over the floor that we had to step over to get down the stairs.
The lobby was a pleasant surprise with a seating area full of couches, chairs, and a table. The hotel overall had an old time feel with a bit of history. If you don’t like interacting with others during your stay, this is the place for you.

United StatesThe cleanliness of the room and bathroom was subpar. There was hair and dust on the floor that we had to clean up and the sink and bathroom mirror were not clean and the bed sheets were stained and had hair throughout. We arrived at 7:30pm after a two hour drive and had to address these issues before being able to rest unwind.
It was quant and Ramesh the concierge was very hospitable and accommodating.

Also, the restaurant never opened as expected for Sunday dinner so we had to go elsewhere. We’ve stayed here three times now and this was our last since the new management took over..
