Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

The location was ideal as it was close to Howard University and nearby eateries and stores. The aroma that greeted us at the end of a long day was quite welcoming.

United StatesThe entry instructions did not tell us how to find the door, so we had to get help from the other tenants. It was very dark and awkward to gain entry the first time. The condo was not quite as clean as one might hope (mostly the bathroom needed detailed attention) but it was basically very good.
It is a nice space, with two bedrooms, lots of closets and good beds. The kitchen is well equipped and the furniture is fairly comfortable.

United KingdomWe had been given an access code which I mislaid. It took several attempts to get in touch with the management to be readvised of the code but to be fair I should have made sure I had a note of it. Some things like carpets are due to be replaced as showing signs of long use.
It's a pleasant apartment, air conditioned and nicely cool in spite of the DC summer outside. Spacious and tastefully laid out. About 10 minutes walk from Columbia Heights metro station. A good base to explore DC/surrounding area and reasonably priced.

United StatesThere were roaches outside. That’s out of the owners control I’m sure but it was not pleasant having to leave shoes in the entrance and finding a roach next to them. Also, having to strip linens seems to be a responsibility of cleaners and not a guest paying to stay on vacation.

AustraliaBooking.com didn’t have accurate info for check in. We were told we would be sent a door code. We had to chase that through the phone numbers which weren’t answered for some days as the manager was overseas and the emergency number wasn’t answered, and its message bank was full. We finally contacted host by email of the DC based business called DC Vacations which we looked up online. The back bedroom has a big HVAC system outside window which woke up guests when it turned on. TV in living room had some issues with falling offline, and we largely couldn’t use it, despite the best efforts of hosts who were responsive and spent some time on the issue. The manager asks that the front door light be kept on for security reasons, but that is quite bright in the front bedroom.
Hosts were great, easy to get to Metro and apt had what we needed.

AustriaA lot of space in this acommodation. Very clean. Fully equipped kitchen. The host Mrs. Houston was very friendly and had some great recommendations for our stay in DC. Late check out was also not a problem, so we could store our baggage longer in the flat. The area was good. 5-10 minutes to the Metro. All in all, a great home in DC and I would recommend to stay there.
