Inside, the apartment itself was thoughtfully decorated and very comfortable with all the necessary creature comforts. Pat was very informative before we arrived and she greeted us after we arrived and was very friendly.

The water strongly smelled of sulfur or rotten eggs, so much so it almost made me gag. Thankfully, we had our own water with us and used that. Grass on the property was knee high and the road getting there was pretty primitive.

    Property response:

Nancy: Thanks for your feedback. We are in a forested location, with USFS on 2 sides. This is explained in our house rules, which all guests receive prior to arrival. It is also mentioned that we are on natural, untreated well water (better than chemical treated water like in big cities), and if guests aren't used to that, they should plan on bringing their own water. I did have a gallon of fresh water on the kitchen counter for you, which I recall looked untouched by you. Well water changes, depending on whether there is a lot of rain runoff, etc.. We are lucky to even have water, as properties further west from us have to have water hauled in! There was a slight smell during your stay, but no "rotten egg" smell as you mention. There is a 2 filter system in the property. The meadow to the west was waiting to be mowed (however, it was not knee high - although your little Maltese may have thought so!) ; it is home to deer, turkey, and smaller animals, which you seemed to enjoy. The grass directly to the west of Lefty's had been mowed, however. Our primitive road actually acts as a deterrent to people driving too fast - the vehicle you had should have had no problem. Contractors were in the area then, starting to do ditch work to install fiber optic cable. I hope this answers your comments and clears things up. Your comments about Lefty's being thoughtfully decorated and very comfortable are appreciated. Happy Trails. Pat & John Fink

The wildlife view every morning we truly enjoyed.

There was only one cereal type bowl and the water system could use a filter to remove the sulfur smell from the hot water heater.

    Property response:

Sandy: I'll have to check how many bowls are in the kitchen; wasn't aware of that. Wish you would have asked for more! We do have two whole house filters at Mossy Rock. It's a natural well system with no chemicals added. Thanks. Pat
