How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Verified reviewBeautiful. Very Nice Facility. Nice Cozy room. Loved staying at this end of Vail, where there is a path to walk along the river. Very nice pool/hot tub facilities. I would definitely consider staying here again. Really liked that we had one free parking spot without being required to use a valet.
I recommend adding a mirror outside the bathroom. It seemed like there was room for it. We were there for a wedding, so having more than one person putting on makeup in the one small bathroom with one mirror was challenging. I'd also recommend putting a lamp between the beds that has plugs or usb ports on it so that electronics can be easily plugged in for recharging. Seems like many hotels do that now. There was a power cord by the toaster, but it would have been helpful to have plugs/ports on the lamp between the beds.

Verified reviewI booked a suite with a view, but was placed in the regular hotel room with a view of a parking lot. Front desk staff from Vacasa said booking.com made a mistake and there are no such rooms. I called Booking.com, but they were not helpful. Filed a complaint, but the response came that nothing could have been done better/differently and no refund is due. Disappointed.

Verified reviewThe unit we were assigned did not match the unit that was advertised on Booking.com. The unit was dated and not to the same level of value as the unit advertised on Booking.com. The lodge said that the pictures on Booking.com did not guarantee a specific unit, but there was nowhere advertised that said this I spent hours upon hours talking between Booking.comandvacasa.com to try to remedy the situation but no remedy was provided for such a high fee paid. I would expect better service. I would never recommend using Booking.com as this was. Miss advertised and customer service was terrible. Picasa.com was equally terrible. I would recommend never using their website to book a unit as it was misleading and poorly advertised.

Breakfast would be nice. In point of fact in the entire village after spending five days, never found a decent place to have breakfast. The only two places, Bella and French bistro I think were pretty weak in fact in the end the best coffee and croissant was at Häagen-Dazs.

Verified reviewThe first and most important thing about Lion Square Lodge is location. It is such an easy walk to the Gondola (Eagle Bahn) or the more important shops in terms of provisioning in Lionshead. Less than 100 yards to each from my room in the North Building (far less from the other building which is adjacent to the Gondola. With this great location comes some important amenities including a ski valet and hot coffee in the lobby every morning. The service is also outstanding. After I moved midweek to a different location, I needed to return to Lions Square for my shuttle pickup. A bellman at Lions Square not only ensured my luggage was safe, he actually drove to pick me up from my other accommodation to meet my shuttle. Much appreciated. Finally, the value was significant. While I stayed in this room as a single, it did have a whole other king size bed (Murphy) and second full batch for additional guests. The space of the suite also would have been fine for more people. Would highly recommend this type of accommodation for families.
The decor in the room and the fixtures were certainly a little tired. The coffee machine did not work (I have the same model at home so unlikely it was user error). The bedding was just average. The TV situation isn't great since the largest wall is taken up by the Murphy bed. But honestly, all of these things were pretty minor and I would certainly stay there again.

I messaged the property management after I booked asking if there was a washer and dryer in the unit and they replied yes. When I got there they didn’t have a washer and dryer in the unit. I was very frustrated and messaged them again and they had the audacity to say that the unit had a washer and dryer but it was on the 2nd floor and you have to pay to use. They don’t even had any laundry baskets in the unit so I would need to drag my suitcase on the second floor. So I guess my frustration would be more with Vacasa than the property itself because they were the ones that gave me the wrong information. I would’ve packed more things if I knew I wasn’t going to be able to wash my clothes. When someone asks if there’s a particular item in the unit we mean inside the unit, not in the lobby or other floors. I wasn’t happy with that at all.
