Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesParking when you first arrive is confusing. However the front desk team is super helpful when you check in to show you the public parking garage.
The location is perfect! Easy access to UVA and to all the cute restaurants on the Corner.

AustraliaSome minor quibbles: - would be great to have streaming services on the TV - drainage from the shower was slow - but not troubling enough to talk about - the hotel is right in the middle of student accommodation and it was L O U D most nights until late, but again all part of the scene at the start of the Uni year
The location is great - an easy walk to the UV campus and lots going on in the neighborhood. An easy but longer walk to the mall. Our room was clean and well appointed with comfortable beds.

TurkeyThe hotel doesn't have a parking lot; the options are either you can park on some parts of the street for free and if that's not available, you have to pay extra to park at a nearby garage. Also, this hotel doesn't have a gym, and even the addition of a small gym would be great (again, we were allowed to use the gym and other facilities of Oakhurst Inn but it wasn't within walking distance). Finally, even though we stayed here when the city was literally empty, we weren't allowed an extra hour for late check out, which I thought was inconvenient.
The location of the hotel was in central University of Virginia area, which we loved. The room was very clean and spacious. We really liked the retro style of the room and even played some of the records in our room. The gentleman at our check-in was very friendly. We also enjoyed the voucher which we used at the cafe of a sister hotel, called Oakhurst Inn, which was really lively.

United StatesThe bathroom only had a shower, and the shower didn't have a strong water flow. This may be a little disappointing for those who want to enjoy a bath time at the hotel. However, for the record, the shower room was very spacious and clean.
The hotel is actually an old, small motel-type building, but its interiors have been fully renovated. The room was very clean, with no smell at all. The soundless and effective air conditioning, large flat-screen TV, and stress-free WiFi made our stay comfortable. Additionally, we enjoyed listening to several vinyl records (jazz by Chet Baker, Coltrane, etc.) that were on the desk in the room, along with a portable LP player.

United StatesThe lighting in the room was not conducive to a good nights sleep. The window in the bathroom let in a lot of light and the main window in the room also let in light. If you are sensitive to light in the morning, this place is not for you. Upstairs guests were stomping go around all through the night. Literally from 2am-4am and started up again at 6am.
Good location, cute retro decor, friendly staff, easy off-street parking.

Perfect location for visiting my college kid. The location is in an area known for partying so don’t stay here if you expect silence. Wi-Fi great, plenty of plugs and usb outlets, small (full size!) fridge. Adorable decor, very friendly staff!

United StatesBottled water in the room would have been nice (or a filtered dispenser in a common area).
Friendly front desk staff. Surprisingly large room with nice couch, chairs, large bathroom and comfortable bed. Very clean. Delightful decor, and the working record player was a fun touch. Great location near restaurants and UVA but on a quiet street away from the noise of traffic/students.

United StatesMy primary complaint was that the room was incredibly bright during nighttime. I had to figure out how to block light from the bathroom window and closing the bathroom door did little since it was translucent. Then, light poured around the shades. I suggested adding curtains which would have made a big difference. I also think the location of the room I stayed in made it particularly susceptible to additional light.
Location was great and I thought the decor and service were top notch.

United StatesThe neighbor had a dog that was barking and the people above me walked quite heavy and were up very late. This is likely random chance I recognize, so no discredit to the hotel.
