How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The only thing and this is completely minor, I would have liked to have individual temperature control of the room. But there was a fan and we were quite comfortable all night.

Asked for extra money for simple amenities like the pool and hot tub that says online included and a lil small
Thank you for your kind review. The Jacuzzi water is changed between each and every guest. Chemicals add and about 1/2 hour to clean it. A lot of guest come late at night so we don't want to charge those people who don't use it for those who do. Pool requires about an hour to clean every day and chlorine is $150 for $20.00 per tablet. So same thing if you use it we might break even. Thank you for staying Ric

Verified reviewVery poor lighting. Main overhead light was not working which just happened earlier that day. The 2 nightstand lights were basically a night light. Odd set-up. You walk in the main door directly into the bathroom. There was hair in the shower. You need to be cautious of that. Very gross to step into a shower with strange hair. Coffee bar was set up directly across from the toilet. You should move it into the other room next to the microwave. I suggest putting some kind of counter or table in the bathroom area to place shower items/clothes on. The outside is beautiful. Inside needs some attention. Ric was very nice.

Stacy, I left you a note on your door that on the afternoon of your arrival that we had to rearrange the room in a hurry to make your accommodation. I called 5 electricians and they were all covered up. So we moved the coffee service into the bathroom with available electricity. The overhead went out and that's why i added extra lamps. Sorry, this happened but I tried to catch you coming and going but i missed you each time. I apologize as this was not our best day in 7 days of serving booking.com customers. Ric

Verified reviewEverything I needed to get some quiet rest on a long distance M/C trip. Had coffee, small water bottles in fridge, microwave great air conditioning ( so hot & Humid on day I was there) Clean. I would stay again if going thru there.
Little tight as far as parking. But Rick the owner let me park my M/C in the grass right in front of the front door. A car would have plenty of room in the front.

Verified reviewThis property has the rustic feel of an old log cabin. The lighting is adequate the decor is old but what do you expect in a cabin setting. The outside is great. Very well maintained. The inside cabins need some attention though.
The cabinet for towels was falling apart and needed to be fixed. I honestly think the room could be configured with better storage and table top area but rustic is what your going for then that’s what you get. As for the carpet on the walls, honestly I get it for a sound barrier but we could hear everything going on behind us so that didn’t work as intended. Plus if you have allergies not the best decision to make.

Verified reviewThe property is close to I-64, downtown Huntington and other locations. Definitely a superb value considering the higher prices of hotels these days. Located in a large grassy property surrounded by trees. 2 convenience store nearby were within a few minutes walking distance from the property. All amenities were provided. Fridge, microwave, Keurig with coffee provided, TV with free Netflix etc. and a good WIFI connection. There is a pool and fire pit and one of the other units has a hot tub. The front porch has comfy chairs and a swing which we enjoyed, and the lighting that comes on after dark. We also met Rick who is a very friendly host and owner. Will definitely book again if the convention is in Huntington, or for other events.
There was some traffic noise, but not an issue after rush hour.

Toilet is loose. Ceiling needs to be redone. No chairs to sit in. Have to watch TV sitting in bed. Not comfortable for me. Front door is very loose.

Verified reviewThe bed was very comfortable. The porch swing was a nice touch. Our host provided bottled water to drink, and a Keurig coffee maker with the required cups to brew coffee. The temperature in the room was comfortable.
The facility needs a little more water pressure. I also suggested to our host Rik that he provided two folding chairs in the room instead of one. He was very responsive when I asked for a second chair so my wife and I could sit together to eat our meal.
