Hôtel and facilities were spotless, staff & cleaning staff were friendly & helpful. Nice little breakfast with fresh coffee, pastries & Orange juice, plus there were tea & coffee facilities in the room. Loved our room with a view, and it was pretty quiet too…great location. We would definitely go back!

Right on the main drag , transportation is expensive in Avalon. You can walk to Descanso Beach and Lovers Cove 1/2 mile each way. Restaurants right there. Bars are super taxed and drinking out is expensive. Most restaurants bars don't list drink prices and tax tourists hard. Byob in Avalon go to Vons deli to eat cheap for lunch. Great place seemingly good rates for the area great location for walking. Botanical gardens a bit of a rip maybe just walk through like you own it.

The stairs were very hard to maneuver with luggage. And also some of the staff was not knowledgeable about the property.

Very quiet at night even on a Saturday because you are in an enclosed courtyard. You can hear other guests in the morning if they are socializing in the courtyard. Great location for walking around town.

Staff is amazing. Location is second to none. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. This is an amazing hotel with everything at your fingertips and walking distance. Continental breakfast needs to be upgraded a tad bit, but that is not a show stopper. We will be staying here again. 1st class facility, 1st class staff, 100% satisfaction!!!!

The bedding and especially the pillows were not comfortable. The pillows were hard, must be very old. The bathrooms are very small. The windows must be original because you can hear everything that’s going outside in the courtyard almost like there’s no barrier. 

The property is really cute 1920s. It’s so charming and a great location. The location is at 10. You can literally walk out onto the boardwalk downtown. You’re centrally located in Avalon bay.

No elevator. There’s approximately 15 stairs to get to the lobby area and it’s very hard to get up and down when you’re traveling with heavy luggage. Depending which floor you stay there might be another set of stairs to get to your room as well. If you travel light it shouldn’t be an issue.

Location, location, location! Just a few meters from the beach and right in the middle of restaurants and shopping areas. Although it’s on the main street which can get loud, once you enter the hotel it is very quiet and peaceful. The room was a bit small but I traveled alone so it was perfect for me. Such a wonderful hotel!

I just wish the check in time and check out time was a little later because you have to store your luggage it an outside storage area and i just wish it was a little more secure.

Elevator access for those who can't or have a difficulty time with stairs. But with an older building it might not be feasible at this point.

More variety would have been nice. Same offerings of 2 Danish and 3 muffins. Bagels and cream cheese and fresh fruit would be great. Hot chocolate along with coffee and tea selections would be great for kids.

The only complaint I have is more with Booking.com and not the hotel. Stairs, lots of stairs and for me very difficult to manage. Please state whether a property has elevator or stairs.

The fluffy towels, cleanliness, location , quiet and the staff was very friendly and ready to help you if needed. Also, the hotel itself was nice.

The bed had an aging spring mattress that felt like it was due for replacement (although my partner thought it was fine). On Friday and Saturday nights, there is a karaoke bar next to the hotel that creates a lot of noise. The singing isn't too disruptive, but the folks hanging out outside the bar make a lot of noise until midnight-ish.

The chocolate muffins at breakfast were top notch, while other muffins and pastries were average. The staff were excellent, accommodating guest needs and wants to the best of their ability. The location on the beach is unbeatable.
