Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesAs a “mainlander” it’s a bit tough to get used to no AC, but that’s to be expected on the island!
What a tranquil, lovely property. Beautiful grounds, updated rooms, and a delicious breakfast with their own coffee. My husband especially loved the ukulele in the room!

United StatesOur stay at Mango Sunset was perfect in every way. Linda was a friendly, informative and kind host. She provided beach chairs and umbrella, beach towels and let us use her dryer. She took the time to tell give us information on out of the way beaches and good restaurants. The food was some of the best b and b food I've ever tasted and much of it was grown on their own farm. We were in the two room suite which was comfortable and had a great view. We were within 15 minutes of Kona restaurants for dinner but felt like we were in a quiet, private world on the farm.

United StatesWalls are a little thin. You’ll hear murmuring from the room next door. But it’s a small thing.
Hosts were wonderful. Friendly, helpful, accommodating . Beautiful quiet spot on a working coffee plantation. Well appointed room- clean and comfortable. Amazing views.

Staying at Mango sunset is the absolute amazing highlight of our trip in big island. 5 star experience! Location: it’s 10 minutes drive from airport. There is a short drive way from highway to the Airbnb, we don’t have cars, but all uber drivers have no problem driving uphill. View and environment: the house is located near a coffee farm and on the top of a small hill, so you will have an absolute fantastic view of sunset. It is surrounded by coffee trees and fruit trees and you can find chickens running around. You are living in the original natural kingdom, very different from staying at a standard hotel. Their cat Melisa is also cute! Condition: the room is nice and clean, you can find everything like microwave, fridge etc. you need. It’s also safe and quiet, especially in the night. They use Starlink for internet, so even if the location is away from busy area, you have stable and free minternet which is important for me. Host: the best part of mango sunset is the host couple: Heidi and Dan. They are kind, professional, funny and welcoming. You can see from the small ukulele on the wall to a flower on the table that they both love life and want the guests to feel like home. Heidi every morning will make guests her homemade breakfast. All the foods are grown from their farm. You can’t find any similar amazing food anywhere else. In one early morning we have tour needs to leave early, Heidi even wakes up at 6am and made a ham&cheese sandwich for us to take! Dan is responsible for maintain everything neat and smooth. The water pressure has some issue and he fixed it immediately! I can’t say any better words for the host. They are absolutely extraordinary! Overall, the mango sunset makes our trip unforgettable experience! Highly recommend! I will definitely return if I get any chance to visit big island again!

United StatesThere was absolutely nothing we didn't like. We wish we could have stayed longer.
The location was beautiful situated on a coffee farm. It felt remote, but was within 15 minutes from the Kona Airport and the restaurants in Kailua-Kona. At breakfast, we were treated to fruits growing on the farm that we'd never tried before. The pan roasted Kona coffee was delicious. The hosts were friendly and very knowledgeable about the area.

VietnamKeeping in mind this is a pure B&B therefore no daily housekeeping ( yes fresh towels always available upon request) , no particular amenities or facilities like a pool i find overall the daily rate to be a bit too high for what you get.
Very friendly and attentive staff; location is very nice and room is quite comfortable. Excellent breakfast and especially the flexibility in accommodating dietary requests plus the homey feeling provided.

United StatesThe gate is pretty loud to open up and close. Not really an issue in the daytime, but we came in around 11pm to midnight and I couldn't help but feel worried it was going to wake people up. Otherwise, all was good.
Easy to get to and awesome instructions provided by the caretaker. Wonderful service, beautiful grounds and view, friendly people, and quiet aside from the frogs. But that's not really something that can be controlled. Rooms were cool, and the provided coffee was appreciated~

United StatesMy wife and I could not have been happier with Lynne and the location.
Lynne personifies Aloha. My first time to Hawaii and could not have selected a better place on a coffee farm with great views, serene and safe. Wonderful home cooked breakfast with your menu preferences, clean room with Kona coffee provided and ideal location. Kona has a great feel about it and maybe it is the beneficiary of the revival from the 1840s. I recommend Mango for anyone who wants to experience the true measure of Hawaii.

DenmarkYou should be aware that you can only get to the place by car, and you need to follow the precise instructions from the host.
Beautiful location and view of the ocean, lush and green surroundings. Excellent, personalised breakfast (the host asked in advance about food preferences). The host Lynne was super service-minded, relatable and helpful in all aspects, including communication.

United KingdomMango Sunset Bed & Breakfast was the perfect spot to arrive to after a long haul flight. The accommodation is tucked away and incredibly peaceful, the rooms are spotless and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Every attention to detail had been taken care of and it was a pleasure to sit and talk with Lynne and Julia over breakfast. They made the most delicious breakfast and gave me some great tips for the rest of my time on the island.

United StatesThe sound proofing of these rooms just isn't good - it feels like the next door neighbors are in the room with you. Also the Internet is pretty abysmal - it's better to just not offer it rather than deal with how frustrating it is.
Rooms are clean, good sized and the view is beautiful. Breakfast was lovely and the staff are great - they give excellent recommendations.
