Great location, close to everything in the downtown area. Close to great bars and restaurants. We were able to walk everywhere. We were there near the end of the season so crowds were not a problem. Staff was excellent. Room was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was light but a great start to the day.

That it is next to a park love kids but to be woken up at 7am by kids playing in playground was a bit much.

One thing we thought could be improved is the fact that coffee is not available until 8:15am and you have to wait until 9am for breakfast. It would have been nice to get our coffee by 7am and breakfast by 8:30am.

The property is in a great location. It is within walking distance to downtown. It is very quiet and you feel like you are in your own house! Your stay includes breakfast served on a lovely porch. The staff were super friendly, making you feel at home.

I would have loved to see coffee and teas available after the breakfast hours. Putting a kerig out for the people to help them would be a nice touch.

The staff was exceptional and the location was close to everything downtown. The room was large and very nice.

Very small TV While I love the sound of children playing, the play ground right outside our room was very busy.

Breakfast was lovely. The china and tableclothes were such a treat. I loved the jetted bathtub. The room with the fireplace was very romantic.

our room didn’t have a door to separate the toilet from the room, so no real privacy for using the toilet. The shutters weren’t the right size on the center windows, so sleeping in can be a challenge. we shoved pillows in the opening which worked okay.

Location is perfect! Quaint small hotel, furnished and designed very well. Very comfortable bed and big room. The breakfast was great.

We loved everything. Only suggestion might be to add a Keurig type hot drink maker, so that coffee and tea could be available throughout the day.

Hotel location is fantastic - located right in Downtown Saugatuck. You can go out the door and walk to anywhere in the city. Located on a main street and in between a city park and the post office. Staff are so efficient, friendly and helpful. Daily breakfast is so delicious and presented in such a lovely manner. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Other than the location, there was nothing to justify the price of this room. Hotel was very old and somewhat quaint. But, lots of little things were annoying or scary. Breakfast was take it or leave it, one selection. Bathroom door had a loose handle and was hard to open. Heater was too noisy to turn on. Bannister on the stairs was loose for wall mount and caused me to slip carrying my luggage up the long flight of stairs. There is a four or five spot parking out the back. However, when tried to exit the back with my luggage, I was berated by a woman who said it was “her establishment” and she didn’t want guests “banging up the paint” on the back door. So, I had yo go thru the front. Look, it’s her place and I don’t mind following local rules. But, she acted like I was a felon and an idiot. That in itself would keep me from coming back.

Location is excellent. Shower had decent pressure. Bed was okay.

The room was very small and I was surprised that it was considered deluxe. The bed was a queen rather than a king and the mattress was very uncomfortable, way too soft and probably needed to be replaced

We have stayed at the Maplewood before and we booked a deluxe room. It was bright and clean. The location of the hotel was very good and the staff was very pleasant and friendly. Breakfast on the sun porch was very pleasant and the weather was wonderful.

Stained carpeting; smaller rooms; little value for amount charged; tight and inconvenient parking; small TV and no movie channels; no room thermostats (window air conditioner in one of our rooms); compromised security - door didn't close - had to lock deadbolt only; small, unequipped bathrooms; cheap furniture; postal trucks loading beginning at 5:40 a.m. right outside window; no phone; unheated, small pool; still COVID cleaning restrictions? Owners need to invest some real money into this tenement. SO DISAPPOINTED. GOT RIPPED OFF.
