Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaI wouldn't recommend the restaurant... It was okay ish. Might have been an off night though, as I've had great food at other McMinimins.
Clean, comfy bunk beds, charming decor, lots of history:) I thought not having my own private bathroom would annoy me, but it was no problem. There were plenty of bathrooms, i never had to wait.

United States of AmericaI love the ambiance of this place--rustic and historic, yet luxurious. Beds were comfortable, free coffee was delicious. The art is eclectic and compliments the vibe perfectly.

GermanyIt was quite clear that I would have to expect noise from the trains every now and then. No problem with ear plugs. However, you get a cold air stream down from the sealing above one half of the bed. There is no way to control or stop the draft. As I was alone, I could move to the other side of the bed. Otherwise I would have caught a bad cold.
Very nice historic place with a lot of atmosphere. Perfectly restored, very clean. Nice staff and good quality food and drink downstairs in a very special historic environment.

United States of AmericaThe building is very hold and historic (we loved that) but the pipes in the bathroom screeched for long periods of time. Other than that, all good.
My 10 year old and I stayed here after a daypass at the water park at Great Wolf Lodge (GWL) and was only about a 15 minute drive away. It cost literally a fraction of what it would have cost to get a room at GWL, and had tons of character. We spent a couple hours playing shuffle board and taught him to play pool. Food was great. We got in free to their movie theater. Bed was super comfy, bathrooms great. Loved all the hanging plants everywhere in the restaurant and bar.

United KingdomSo, there's no way to hide it, if you don't like trains then ask for a room facing the main street. But if you live trains then room 12 gets you the sights (and sounds) of a busy freight line. I'm fine with that. Others might not. Spelling mistake on my wall mural!
So I'll admit I've stayed at McMenamins venues in the States before. This place was well up to the mark, with quaint and funky rooms, sling with great staff and food. The rooms were decent sized and certainly very on trend. Bathrooms clean and spacious, although some will not appreciate the walk down the corridor to "the crapper". Food and facilities were top notch, Nd a great range of beers on site. Best value hotel of my trip, and best place to stay in this town.

United States of AmericaAs I said, the walls are thin. How does the song go? "The couple in the next room are bound to win a prize...they've going at it all night long..." (tip of the hat to Paul Simon). They didn't go at it all night...only about 1/2 hour...but still.
I love this place. It is true to it's roots...which go back more than a century. The walls are thin, the bathrooms are down the hall. But it is clean and very different from the modern alternatives. I enjoyed the different experience this wonderful old place offers.

United States of AmericaThe walls between the rooms are paper thin. The talkie lady next door didn't get it when we exchanged a few sentences in normal voice. Finally I had to pound on the wall. Don-t know what you can do about this.

United States of AmericaThe MOST disappointing amenity overall, not to mention.. it was MOST UNCOMFORTABLE altogether was the mattress, TERRIBLE!! We have stayed at several of your facilities and in fact have a Passport. Unfortunately however, as is the case with any service based business, you MUST have and/or experience a disappointment in order to truly APPRECIATE the “9” & “10”’s. Well, we have now experienced a vintage mattress and MOST uncomfortable sleep. :) Overall however, and as IS typical in our experience w/McMenamins Customer Service & cleanliness = 12!!
We ate at breakfast @ The Centerville Cafe (directly across the street-EXCELLENT!) We drank and snacked @ The Bar (Capone Table-again!) James was uber helpful. 10/10 We miss Zane, Great bartender from several years ago :)
