How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

That the 4 days that we were there our room was not cleaned had to ask for clean towels every day and toilet paper. Had dirty wet towels sit on our bathroom floor and full garbages and unchanged bedding for the price that was not except able. We asked every day when our room was going to be cleaned and even told them when we were going to be gone and that we had a pile of wet towels in our bathroom on the floor.
I liked the location close to down town penn yan, easy to find

I prepaid a month ahead of my visit. When I got home, I wss charged for a nights stay! I called and talked with the desk clerk. I was told it would be taken care of. I checked later on line only to see I was charged again!!! Now I'm out over $600! So now I have paid close to $1,000 for 1 night! Called again and requested someone in charge. I went over and explained step by step to the regional manager of Penn Yan. She saw what was done and apologized. She assured me it would be taken care of. She apologized and offered me a 20% discount for another stay. $60 to recompense for this mess?!! The only help was she removed an authorization charge of $34!!! I'm getting help today in this unresolved mess!
I enjoyed my visit, but what occurred after I was home ruined the enjoyment of my one night stay.

The breakfast needed a visible manager to keep visitors from taking advantage and leaving little for others. Restocking of items and general clean up needs improvement. Carpets in the hallway are stained and dirty.
The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Lobby area provided a safe and clean area to meet up with friends for coffee and conversation.

Theres 1 elevator and it could use servicing or just another elevator to take some of the carrying load. Newer mattresses.. one of ours had a very visible stain on the bottom/side of it like it was just flipped over.
Nice room and good breakfast. Short walk to stores/main st. And Lake only 5mins away.

Nothing negative to report.
Great location - close to restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, shops, bars. The beds were comfy. Really good coffee at breakfast.

The parking pass. Just keep car info in computer check in. Instead of making customer run back out to car with plastic pass

Carpets are showing their age, Needs a general refresh.
Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was okay but really liked the cookies and available coffee and tea, Great location.

The shower stall needs an update and the mattress was very hard.
The location was in a walkable location in Penn Yan. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.

Closet was small as well as the desk area. Breakfast doesn't have hot protein options. The gym opens very late at 7am and pool towels are very small so you need to use more than one
Microwave and fridge in the room, bed was very comfortable and bathroom was clean with enough towels for my family. The pool area is nice and fun for the kids.

Bed was too soft. Room amenities were very basic. Small towels and few. We just kept saying everything was "micro" That's okay, but it was not budget priced as far as 3 star hotels go. Breakfast offerings were only sugary and the second morning there was no yogurt. How is that possible?
Great location in town, close to shops and coffee and near the bike-walking trail. Clean and quiet.

Pool was cloudy and staff didn't clean our room last 2 days.
