How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewCharming hotel in a great location. The staff is also incredibly friendly and professional, especially in the lobby restaurant. The lobby itself is also very comfortable, and they have "wine o'clock service" in the early evening and a nightcap at the front desk. Also coffee in the morning.
It's an old hotel that's been updated, but some things (like the electrical system) did not get updated properly. on the first night, we turned on a hair dryer and it popped the circuit breaker for our room--the whole room went completely dark. We left and when we returned in a couple of hours they'd reset it. On the second day we returned to our room to find that all of the elevators were out of service, except for the service elevator. We went upstairs, went to bed, and when we woke up the elevators were running again. On the third day something else happened. I can't remember what it was, but you get the idea.

Verified reviewThe room was very spacious. The breakfast at the restaurant was tasty, but the portions were large.
There was a funny smell at the hotel hallway and the room. I am not sure the air-conditioning was working well. It was missing fresh air, that's all. After 12+ hours travel, I had to wait for over 20 minutes at the desk for check-in as the lady was on the phone.

Verified reviewLocation was good, breakfast at the restaurent was excellant
Worst hotel gym I've ever seen. Should be embarrassed. Also on the 4th floor the walls were peeling at the bottom, made it feel old and decrepit.

Verified reviewThe facilities (gym and lobby) are nice. Loved the toiletries.
The bed was comfortable, but needs more blankets available. An easily accessible vending machine or wet bar would be nice.

Verified reviewBreakfast was amazing every day, we were so thankful we added that package to our reservation. Overall, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean, elegantly, decorated, and really a treat to stay in.
Housekeeping schedule was pretty frustrating. We only had our room cleaned twice by our choice. Both times we knew we’d be out of the room for the majority of the day. On both occasions the room was not cleaned by the time we got back in the late afternoon. The first time we asked, and they sent someone immediately up. It still was rather frustrating. The second time, we left early in the morning and didn’t get back till after 4:20 PM. The housekeeper had just opened our door. Only two towels were stocked in the room, we needed extra towels. I would have appreciated better communication with our room cleaning.

Verified reviewI had a suite. There was a leak in the bathroom. I had to pack everything and move to a smaller room. No help offered to move or any other apologies. I’ll never stay here again.

Verified reviewExcellent downtown location - easy walking to everywhere. The in-house restaurant Panzano was superb - no need to venture out into the cold if you want a great meal in a great restaurant.
Rooms are a little small but ok. There really isn't much lighting though so rooms seem really dark even with every light on.

Verified reviewThe staff was responsive. Happy hour was fun, Panzanos has fine food. Price is reasonable. Text message from front desk to check on our comfort was nice.
Having a reading light and charging capability on only one side of the king size bed (409) was very inconvenient. There was no lighting or electrical outlet on the left side of the bed. The large box only served as a stand for a glass of water and a book which I couldn't read due to lack of light. A lamp like the one on the desk would have been nice or one like on the right would have been grand. When we stay again, I would ask for a room with 2 queens which would have lighting in between the bed. It was a minus 0 day and night. Halls and elevators were cold but rooms were fine.

Verified reviewBreakfast and fireplace in lobby
I was in town for the avalanche game valet wouldn’t park my truck because they said it was oversized. Nothing like this was stated when I booked the room. This took an extra 45 min which caused me to miss half of the game very disappointing.
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback, we have spoken with our valet team and are sincerely apologetic for the issues with your vehicle. We do hope you will return to give us a chance to make a better second impression.
