Room was big, comfy and clean. Spent 1 night, mini fridge had a to- go breakfast in it. Front desk customer service was excellent. Communication was great as well. About 15 minutes to Denali NP

Sink was draining very, very slowly. I did not contact the front desk about it because we were only staying one night, but I found it hard to believe that the person who cleaned the room before our stay did not notice that it was draining so slowly. Because of the slow drainage, reside from washing hands, brushing teeth, etc. was left all in the sink when it finally did drain.

Great property near Denali National Park. Seemed very clean. Lady who checked us in was very nice. Snacks for sale in the lobby at very reasonable prices. Near several restaurants. They put breakfast in the fridge for each person- squeeze yogurt, a boiled egg, an orange, a small juice, and a snack bar. I do eat boiled eggs, but this did seem like strange items to leave for hotel guests. We did not do any exploring, but I think there were walking trails around the property. Beds were comfortable and clean. There were numerous lamps in the room, and I really liked that. Sink was separate from toilet and shower, and I really like that when traveling with friends. I am not a light sleeper, but before I went to sleep, I could hear the person (I think it was a child.) running/walking back and forth in the room above us.

The sink didn't drain so it was gross when brushing your teeth and washing your face. No king bed, we had to sleep in seperate beds as a couple. Breakfast was a strange concoction left in our refrigerator for the next day. Hard to find, maps took us to the wrong place so we had to figure it out. Their sign is pretty but blended and didn't stand out. Only visible heading in one direction. See the attached. Too far from Denali.

It could be because we were early in the season, but there was no evidence of a golf course, or restaurant. Even the closest eating places were closed, making traveling to the park entrance the only option for food and activities.

The staff were helpful in finding us transport to and from the park. We also appreciated the breakfast snacks because they were packable for our lunches.

I got double charged for the room and the hotel and booking.com make it my problem to get a refund whereas the problem basically starting with the on-line booking on Booking.com timing out yet having taken my money. It needs to be remembered I made that booking from Talkeetna with its limited i-net connectivity which may have added to the time out issue. Basically the problem is having to pay upfront without the service having been provided, else one can just "vote with one's feet"

Our room faced the parking and unfortunately even the smallest conversations or vehicles noise was heard through the room quite clear.

Staff was unavailable by the time we arrived late at night. It is totally understandable, but we had to write up our own check-in and payment info, seal it in an envelope and leave it down past their desk. It involved trust, and we were quite sure that we could trust the location and people around, but one can never be certain with where we come from with lots of theft.

Staff were very friendly and informative in the morning! We learned a lot about Alaska from them to help our journey to find the aurora. The location was a perfect spot along the way to see the National park as well.. Last-minute booking was easy in November! Breakfast bowls were delicious, coffee and tea available as well in the lobby.

There was an issue with the phones so we were left standing at reception for some time waiting to check in.

The room size was great and beds were comfy. Loved the breakfast bowls. It’s in a great location, my kids loved that it was “in the wilderness”. I enjoyed the shower!

I wound up booking this particular hotel due to the fact that there was not a lot of availability closer to Denali and also the price.Our arrival was somewhat strange. The person manning the desk in the evening was a bit aloof and not extremely helpful.The room and especially the bathroom are somewhat dated.My only advice if you intend to book this hotel is to find out if you can book the first floor as we had to lug our suitcases up a tall staircase to reach our second floor room, which was a little difficult for us. We were also told by the person checking us in that there was a back door that was kept locked, but our key did not open the door, and then we were told by the person in the morning that that door was never kept locked, which I think is a bit of a security issue. They did leave a bowl of saran wrapped food in the refrigerator, which I felt was geared more towards children than adults.The hard boiled eggs were appreciated. Also, the driveway to the hotel is an obstacle course of potholes, and as it had been raining, difficult to spot those potholes.
