The hotel is historic, which is both charming and also a bit of a compromise. Our double queen room was very clean and comfortable but felt small and the floors sloped. The lobby had a funky smell and there were different smells throughout the hotel that weren't particularly pleasant. Pool food/drink service only runs on weekends. Some things in the activities schedule were not well explained and did not say we had to register at front desk, when in fact we did.

The location of this resort is exceptional, with an incredible panoramic view of the mountains. The farm is also a major highlight, with welcoming staff and so many wonderful animals to meet. We loved it there and visited many times. We also loved the pool, which was packed some of the time but more quiet at others. The walking trails were well mapped out and we enjoyed exploring. Overall, the resort has a peaceful feel in a spectacular location. If you're a golfer (I'm not) I think that would also be a huge draw.

The hotel is very clean but still shows signs of its age, such as the hallway carpets which gave off an odor occasionally when we entered our floor. The staff was also friendly but some seemed to lack formal training. For a grand resort, my expectations were a bit higher than the service we received, which was at times great (kudos to the bar tenders especially) but other times not the most pleasant or professional. Finally, I saw signs for axe throwing and went to sign up, only to find out sign up closes after a short time in the morning. A different guest asked the same thing just after me. Later that day I saw an ad for this in the hotel, but it still wasn’t clear to me that axe throwing is only available at a certain time during the day. Rather, the ad made it seem like there was a tournament with ax throwing, but not that daily there was a small window of time to do this. I only note this as a recommendation for slight improvement when advertising activities, and clearly marking when they’re available.

The view of the mountains was just incredible. This is a perfect place to bring the family, sit back and enjoy the property for the weekend. We sincerely enjoyed swimming at the pool, playing tennis, visiting the animal farm, and sitting on the porch in the early evenings. The property itself is just gorgeous. Kudos to the gardener as well!

Its a old property and has its charm. I have stayed at mountain view 4 times so far. Each time I got a room that had uneven floors. Its probably due to the age the property.

Its location is amazing. The views are breathtaking.

This is a beautiful New England hotel with a great tradition. It is a resort hotel in every sense of the word. The staff were excellent!!! This is a great destination hotel located in a stunningly beautiful area!

Bed was hard to get into. Very high up and I'm 5'3. Pool area was warm and water was also but after asking for reduction the temp was much cooler.

I didn't like the pool area. It was super hot inside, too much bleach. I couldn't go in there because as soon as I opened the door I felt the heat & I got a big headache.

Water could have been warmer in pool. Room/suite not as depicted on website. Suite while comfortable was considerably smaller than pictured. This was a major disappointment.

Exceptional MOUNTAIN VIEW! Staff was friendly and accommodating. Food was well prepared and inviting to the eyes as well as the tastebuds!

Our room and bathroom were dark and no view. For a 3 days stay, I was hoping to get a better room. Restaurant/breakfast were expensive. Restaurant staff seemed inexperienced and tired.

We booked this hotel because that the hotel website said they have ice skating activities and snow tubing activities. We arrived at 12/19/24 after some snow and the weather is cold. But the hotel told us that their ice skating ring is broken this year and they are not going to fix it, then there is no ice skating this year, So So disappointed !! For snow tubing, they kept telling us there is not enough snow, then it did not happen either :( I felt it doesn't provide enough winter activities for a Resort type of hotel :( The double queen bed room we stayed is a bit small, it said 306 sqft, but felt it is a bit less than that. It has a big walk-in closet, but the bed room itself is small. Not sure it is just this room is smaller, or all standard double queen bed rooms are like this. Perhaps we should pay more for a bigger room. But again the view outside the window is great! Did not try hotel restaurant, since we drove to Littleton to eat Asian food. Felt the hotel restaurant is a bit pricy!

The location is great! close to Santa's Village! Nice view of White mountains! Close to Town of Jefferson NH! The horse wagon ride is fun even though it is a bit pricy! The hotel has a farm, the free farm visit is great! The farm manager is super nice! The indoor pool has very nice bathrooms for changing and shower! The bathrooms in hotel lobby are the best public bathrooms in all 4 star hotels we stayed! The hotel bar is nice, serve Pizza even at 10pm! The camp fire is fun !

The guests above us were extremely noisy and felt like a herd of elephants coming through the ceiling. This went on for hours each night of 3 night stay. We didn’t complain but it was torture. It’s an old building so the walls, floors and ceilings are paper thin.

We love the overall feel of the resort. It was so nice to see all of the different guests hanging out and enjoying the large lobby area. My family enjoyed the pool table, board game room, and the movie theater. All of the food that we ordered from the restaurant was very good. Linda from the gift shop was just delightful and she made each morning start out right with a friendly chat while I got my morning coffee. The location was beautiful and was perfect for our visit to Santa’s Village that was just 15 minutes down the road.

The hotel is on the national register of historic places. However the floors were a bit creaky. We would have appreciated some fresh complimentary coffee in the lobby as the keurig coffee maker does not seem to make very good coffee.

We chose the hotel for it's location and comfortable room. The room was impeccable and the staff very friendly. We did not take advantage of the other facilities but did tour the barn briefly.
