We were in a room with a queen bed with a twin bunk above.it. The bunk bed was so close to the ceiling, it was impossible to sit up in it or move around in it. My son kept hitting his elbow, head, etc. all night. Also, the bunk had an HVAC vent right over my son’s head. Really bad location for a vent. As for the height of the bunk, I think it could have been lowered about a foot without adversely affecting the person in the queen bed. (As an aside, I have no idea how the housekeeping staff manages to change the sheets on the upper bunk.)

No closet, so one has to hang clothes on hooks along a wall with arty clothes hangers. Would have preferred a bigger desk, but there isn't enough room. Picky stuff -- sorry! The parking: handy garage right next door, but the system for getting in and out (calling an automated operator) is a pain. Why must we do everything with our phones? $20/day.

The staff was wonderful -- so nice and efficient. The room was unusual but excellent -- a u-shape at the end of the building on the top floor with gobs of sunlight. Spectacular view. Bed like a just-right-firm cloud. Fabulous bathroom.

Hallways are pretty dark--I likely only notices because I was traveling alone and didn't love the walk to my room.

Cool and quirky hotel--very fun decor and vibe! Room was lovely-- and spotless. I received a welcome drink coupon which was a nice touch--full bar in lobby--and The lobby is very well=appointed--games, snacks, etc. . . There is also a "help yourself" closet for extra stuff (toiletries, towels) that you can access yourself which is very nice.

The cleaning ladies knocked on our door for housekeeping a few hours before checkout and the room was tiny but clean. Bartenders were great.

I had a quote from Booking.com for $478/night (including fees). I was charged $600! My confirmation number is: 3782244940 The hotel is avoiding me. I have called several times to question the discrepancy, and they do not call back or say they cannot handle my request bc the manager is busy or pre-occupied. Hmmmm.

Location was incredible for Richmond Half Marathon! Property was lovely.

I was surprised and disappointed to find my "twin room" reservation was "Bunk Beds" . TV was huge and the ladder to top bunk was in the middle of the screen when trying to watch the tv. In the big scheme of things not a major issue, would have been good to know when making the reservation.

my room was small and didn’t have a closet, but since it was just me traveling and for only one night, it was pretty much a non issue.

I attended a seminar nearby and I was within walking distance so it was very conveniently located. the large shower in the bathroom was great! The staff was friendly and helpful.

I appreciate irreverence, but "serve your damn self" was a bit over the top. Paper cups and straws for coffee in the lobby were poor quality - coffee leaked through the bottom of the cup. The sink design was not great - water got all over the place and splashed out because it was so shallow. We asked that our room be cleaned and the sheets and towels changed on Thursday the 25th and they were not. We were told at about 5:30pm that Housekeeping had gone home for the night. We had to go to the "stash" for towels. Not okay - we paid for a hotel and the basic services that go with a room for the night. Called to request a late check out and had to call 3 times. The first two times someone answered, but never acknowledged me or spoke to me. It all worked out and we did appreciate the late checkout because we were all discombobulated by the 2am fire alarm. So, we liked the Moxy, but the service can certainly be improved.

The staff were friendly. Room set-up was nice (Room 814) and the light in the corner room was great. Two comped drinks were delicious - we had the special. Staff was friendly on Saturday afternoon. Fitness center had all the basics. Liked the filtered water stations available throughout the hotel.

I was moved to a room by the elevator doors because the room I requested/booked was no longer available . Each time someone left the door would slam, waking me. Fire alarms also went off at 1:30am. Wasn’t a restful pleasant stay. No storage to put your things. Also didn’t know I had to pay for garage parking. Came back around 10 and there were 4 cars holding up the entrance for 30 min to the hotel with college students that could pay to exit. Offered to pay just to get back in.

It took weirdly a very long time to get served a drink at the bar, even though I was the only one there. Also, I had three tickets for comped drinks and none of them would cover the single glass of wine I requested.

I loved the atmosphere and vibes at the Moxy. The staff was incredibly friendly. My room was immaculate and full of modern, yet simple upgrades that I was happy about. The location was great and close to everything I wanted to do.

No coffee or tea in room, and coffee only available at the bar in the morning, per bartender. Loud music coming through the walls. Staff is low energy, distracted, and not particularly friendly. Room was very small with bunkbeds. It felt like a youth hostel. Hot water ran out. Parking is $19 a day.

Super location, very clean and modern. Food and drink were very good.
