How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The room was spacious and clean. The kitchenette area was an added bonus that we will be keeping in mind for future trips to the area. The community room was a nice amenity; it had a fridge, stove/oven, tons of counter space, a few tables, and a tv; there were also grills placed around the property for guest use. The pool was perfect for our son.

The Saturday night clerk was short with answers. When we asked on our arrival of recommendation for place to eat, she said "Good Luck". We ended up finding an excellent pizza place. Sunday evening staff was excellent

The materace was ok, relatively comfortable, but every movement of one person was felt by the other.
Great location, cleanliness and facilities, staff was very helpful and pleasant.. The room was very nice.

Sofa arm was broken. Furniture/beds were uncomfortable. Added fee when using booking.com, not stated in any fine print. Quoted different price, charged exponentially higher amount.
Atmosphere on the property was nice. Good amenities. Location to town centre was ideal.

Staff member who took my call was less than empathetic or helpful when I called to ask for options on cancelling 1st night due to the death of my brother. She talked very fast and seems like her main goal is to get off the phone rather than take any extra steps to assist customers.
Clean. Close to beautiful Stearns Park and Beach. Pool. Fire pit. Picnic tables. Jr suite room had frig, microwave, dishwasher and looks like it was recently updated.

Small bathroom, no Kleenex provided, only 1 roll of TP

The person at the front desk wasn't very pleasant at check in or check out! We also had to pay some additional taxes of $32 at check in. (We have never had any additional charges before with Bookings.com.)
The motel was clean and close to the beach and town. Housekeeping was great and made sure we had everything we needed each morning. They have a beautiful heated pool and a nice gas fire pit for cool evenings.

We were in town for the Ludington Half Marathon and the start line was right out front! Perfect location, easy walk to the beach.

Wife and I like to sleep in. So after 12pm we were usually out the door. Each day we came back to our room that wasn’t serviced. Had to go to front office multiple times to get more toiletries. Even contacted front desk about toilet not flushing properly and nothing was done. We made due

The couch (hide a bed) was very lumpy and over used.

The heaters weren’t great. They put out heat but the blower wasn’t working well so it took quite awhile to get the room warm.
Loved the suite. Very spacious with separate sitting room and bedroom.

We were just unfortunate to be there while they were getting new roofing and we were on the top floor which made it very noisy in the daytime. Because of the roofing we couldn’t park in front of our room because of the roofers equipment. Our room had 2 double beds and the heating/air unit was right next to the bed I slept in. I had to turn the unit off because the air hit right in my face and it was loud because I was right next to it.
The location couldn’t be beat. Very close to downtown and the lighthouse and just a short drive to Ludington State Park and the other lighthouse and dam. The room was clean.
