Broken door lock

The code was not necessary as the door was not locked when we arrived. Unfortunately the electronic keypad lock was not working. We could lock when inside, but not when leaving.

It was stated this place was suitable for 4 persons- I don’t see how. There was a double bed and a pull out sofa. Both which were hard and sofa bed very uncomfortable. There was no kettle to boil water for my tea - had to use microwave! Some of the plates and mugs had chips in them. Blinds were dusty and some slats were broken.

The check in process was confusing. We had the address but no response to my messages about how to get keys. We found the place unlocked, but then for several hours received no response to questions about the code for the door to lock when we went out. Finally the owner (or manager) said she would send someone in the morning. It ended up being a simple fix which could have been addressed by an information sheet or binder in the property - there was none. The kitchen was pretty well equipped but the dish drainer rack was filthy, I had to scrub it for 10 minutes to get it usable, and all the pots and pans had chipped Teflon so unsafe to use. Luckily the nearby grocery store had lots of options for prepared meals or things that could be microwaved. The bedroom is small for a queen bed, very narrow space on the far side - anyone not skinny would have a hard time getting in or out that side.

Great location on a quiet residential street of cute old houses, easy walking distance to the main street and only a block from the grocery store. The best feature was the deck overlooking the street, with table, chairs and a shade umbrella, a lovely place to relax. The place is small, fine for two but no more. There was no one in the downstairs unit while we were there.

This will be a hard section to complete. I had been planning this week for a while and was looking for the right hotel room. I couldn't find anything that I didn't conclude I would go stir crazy trapped inside. So I have this deep sense of gratitude that I opened up the search for house rentals. Everything was functional and the kitchen was well stocked with appliances. There was a nice view and everything I needed was in a short, pleasant walking distance. There really wasn't anything I didn't like.

This location was the perfect writer's retreat get away. Many places to quietly write with my favorite being a lounge chair that I moved to look out the patio sliding glass door on the city lights up the hill. Everything I needed was in walking distance. A well stocked Vons is a block away and the house cinnamon drip coffee at Catalina Coffee Cookie company was a morning ritual. I came during the off season where it was rainy, cold, and windy, but that was perfect for a cozy week to finish my book project! I was apprehensive that this location was inside the city enough that I wouldn't be looking out to the ocean, but the city lights on the hill were enjoyable and the beach was only a couple blocks away when I wanted to take a walking break. The end conclusion is that I would enjoy coming back next year to repeat the experience.

The host was wonderful and super accommodating! The place was even better than the pictures. Great view from the deck and the kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal.

A little busy and noisy on our street. Street can be very busy with golf carts. Use CAUTION my only complaint, The Property owner must put a long chain on the bedroom light on the Ceiling Fan in the bedroom, so one does not have to stand on the bed to pull the short chain to turn off light when NOT being used. Standing on the mattress is an accident waiting to happen and very dangerous.

First of all, the Property Manager, Veronica is an asset to the property. She is very helpful, accommodating, and was willing to meet us at the property to leave our luggage while they were cleaning, before we could check in, which was very helpful, so we didn't have to roll our bags all over town. It's Very close to Vons, and walking distance to the main part of Avalon, and many many restaurants. Fully equipped with everything you need. And very nice to have a patio deck
