How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The lifts were not working very well for a couple of days during our stay. However the staff were ready to find alternative means of getting to our floor.
We liked the $30 allowance to spend on food, the variety and freshness of breakfast and the welcoming, friendly and accommodating staff. The location in Brooklyn was super, right by or near various Metro stations and within walking distance of Dumbo.

The bar is a bit shady. I purchased 3 drinks that estimated to about $80, was almost charged $100,000 more!! Recommend not charging it to room, use cash.
Located within walking distance of restaurants and shopping. Staff is very kind and helpful

Location was perfect - very central to some of the best parts of Brooklyn, right next to several subway stops and parks. Room was BIG by NYC standards, clean, quiet. Nothing super fancy but comfortable and perfect for our stay. Also appreciated the on-site parking and the comped breakfast/coffee at the cafe in the lobby.

Nothing really to quibble with. We were visiting family in Brooklyn, so never went into Manhattan, but if you're planning to visit Manhattan sites like Central Park, Broadway, museums, etc., it's long, expensive cab ride each way, so probably keep that in mind.
Room was spacious compared to Manhattan hotels. Big bed. Long couch. Lots of space to spread out in terms of tables, closets, etc. Had a 20th floor room, so no noise issues. Within walking distance of many restaurants, stores, etc. You get a $30 per day voucher at the restaurant/breakfast nook in the lobby. Very efficient and convenient.

They forced us to buy a USD25 per day Pantry Breakfast for all our staying days... Did not pre-agreed on any like this

We had to pull some hair out of the bath plug & couldn’t sleep due to the noise. The queue for the ‘pantry’ was ridiculous and we also haven’t had a refund for the card payment yet.

the room was very spacious, clean and quiet. the staff was very kind and helpful they gave us the room a lot earlier than the check-in hour considering we came a long way. the hotel is located near a subway station that could take you easily to any destination in Manhattan.

Pillows and king size bed not really all that comfortable for $400+ a night room. And Saturday night our floor smelt like Pot all night. Housecleaning didn't clean our room one of the days so I had to let the front desk know before we went up for the evening.
We love the restaurant and the servers. Food is good and plentiful. Nice atmosphere too.

Not enough staff at check in on a a Saturday night! But plenty of staffing at ck out on a sunday morning. Very pricey and it could use some refreshing updates!!

No armchair/ comfortable seating in room and could not sit in lobby/ bar in evening unless eating there. So had to sit on the bed.Stayed 6 nights so it was a bit restricted
Spacious room with very comfortable beds. Very helpful and friendly staff especially in Pantry. Good to have $25 tax usable towards breakfast costs.
