How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Parking wasn’t that great but to be expected!
We loved that it was so close to amazing restaurants and Golden gate park!

There are no washing machine and dryer during the stay as we could not wash our clothes and had to wait for the next city’s stay to wash our cloth.

He bathroom is very small for 4 adults and no where to put wash bags no ice maker Lots of rules and ways to pick up “fines” We were asked to wear inside slippers which I found unhygienic ( I don’t like to wear other people’s shoes No allocated parking ! Prices I thought a little under $200 per couple !

It is a little bit small and you can hear some voice from other people
They offer free coffee, and they have a good location where you can find very good Chinese restaurants

Two minor things...inconveniences really: I 1) Although there were lots of hangers in the closet, there was no dresser or suitcase stand. 2) There were not enough places to hang towels to dry.
The apartment was immaculate. Beds were comfortable. Walking distance to Muni. Host was responsive and gracious.

Noise insulation might be improved?
It is in a lovely quiet and safe neighbourhood. The owner, Christine has well stocked cupboards, and the table laid with a bottle of wine and bottled waters. She is very accommodating to guests needs and welcomed us on arrival and departure. The apartment is clean and well appointed. We liked it so much we booked for a second time.

The entrance to the apartment could be a bit sunnier or more colorful, and we would have enjoyed using the outdoor space being developed. Nothing to dislike.
Christine provided lots of food products that, while very hospitable and thoughtful, we tend to eat organic foods- good sized refrigerator, so we brought in breakfast foods- ample storage space - Keurig coffee maker was well stocked for morning coffee and tea. Bedrooms a little tight but very spotless and comfortable beds.

There was no heater control that we could find. And there was no toaster.
The apartment had just about everything we needed for a short stay.

The apartment had no separate heat control, and the heat was very loud when it came on, which it did frequently. We had to open the window to control the temperature. There was insufficient cutlery and general kitchen supplies. There was only a microwave and electric kettle for heating things up. The $300 cash deposit felt sketchy, but was not a problem in the end.
The location was good. The shower was adequate. It felt very safe.

It is advertised that you have access to the courtyard which we were looking forward to as we knew the apartment was small. However the yard was just dirt with no greenery or anywhere to sit. It shouldn't be listed as an area at all as completely unusable, very disappointed in this. Very small kitchen with small amount of bench space available.
The location was convenient to Golden gate park with bus transport within 50 metres of the front door that took you straight along Lincoln drive and into the Haight Ashbury area or to the beach. Quite noisy and could hear other guests in their appartments walking around, pipes noisy. Great restaurants within easy walk, good clean laundry nearby. TV easy to use.

Parking is not available and no parking instructions were provided, street parking is severely limited and shared with other homes and you have to find your own space maybe further away from the house. No gas/cookstove in the kitchenette (kitchenettes in hotels mostly have an electric/induction stove). 1 single bathroom is very small with a tiny wash basin, not good for 2 couples to share. Policies are concerning as the host holds security deposit outside of booking platform using Zelle.
Location is very good, nearby to most touristy places. Very clean and well maintained.

The appartement is quite small and the acoustic insulation between the different appartements if the building is weak.
Rooms were comfortable and Christine was a thoughtful Host. The appartement is well situated near Golden Gate park and with public transportation easily accessible.

The apartment was small and dark, with an uncontrollable heating system that made it very uncomfortable to sleep. The worst part was that the property owner is refusing to return my deposit, claiming that I smoked inside, which is UNTRUE, and is now not responding to my messages. I feel scammed and would not recommend this property to anyone. Property owners should be transparent and honest, and this was not the case here. I hope others can avoid similar situations in the future.

This is not a real apartment. It is a set of basement rooms behind the garage. There is no kitchen (there is a fridge and a microwave but no oven/stove or even a hot plate. And the owners who live upstairs are very loud.
It is close to Golden Gate park..
