    Paper thin walls

New Vida Preserve is absolutely beautiful. The scenery is breathtaking. The facilities and amenities are very pretty. The staff was nice. The rooms are cozy and decorated just perfectly. My only complaint and unfortunately would stop me from staying again is that the room was advertised as being soundproof. The rooms are absolutely not soundproof. In fact you can hear every conversation, including whispering on each side. I made a joke and the woman laughed at it in the room next to us. I would return to eat dinner. The restaurant in New Vida was delicious.

It smelled like weed in the room but I aired it out. Since the room was close to the dining area, it got a bit loud at times.

Beautiful property and surrounding areas as well. I loved the simple check in process and having the key ready upon arrival. The coffee/tea station was a nice addition as well. We did some hiking on the trails nearby. Very clean overall.

Customer service, see above. It got resolved but a very stressful hour and a half of messaging to get the room that I had booked on Booking.com

Everything about NewVida preserve was exceptional except the customer service. I had booked a specific room through Booking but was told that the room I had booked for did not correlate with the pictures on Booking as so was assigned to a standard room. It took messaging back and forth for around an hour and a half until I was finally told that I could get into the room that I had booked. Aside from that, the place is amazing, the scenery spectacular, the room (with the deck) was absolutely perfect, clean and comfortable 👌

New Vida was VERY quiet while we were there a Sunday - Tuesday in July. No meals and no extras. So, we just experienced the room and grounds. The view from there was beautiful! Room was comfy. Basic and just what we needed as we spent nights there and explored during the day.

We liked everything. Can’t wait to come back. We wanted the Bistro to be open every morning not just on the weekends..

Amazing. Beautifully renovated comfortable spacious rooms, a well laid out gym with high end equipment, outstanding farm to table restaurant. We stayed for skiing at Whiteface and it worked out very well !

There was some glitch where the hotel wasn't actually taking any reservations over Christmas so that they could give their staff a few days off (good for them), but somehow Booking and American Express never got the memo, so we arrived to a hotel with a locked front door, no instructions on how to get in, and no indication of what our room was. A local guest at the spa eventually let us in, and she had the home phone number for one of the owners, so after an hour we eventually got our room. And it appears that whoever was supposed to run the building on Dec 26 just didn't show up, so by the 27th, there were no more clean dishes in the coffee area (we started pulling things out of the storage cabinet for the restaurant and bar), and dirty dishes started piling up everywhere.

The lodge is a beautiful, very open space. Because we were there over Christmas week, and not on a weekend, we had the run of the house - the restaurant and bar areas were essentially a giant rec room for us and the few other guests.

It was hard to decipher where to go for the check-in. There are no signs to help lead you and if there are, we didn't see them. Took us a while to figure out it is through the restaurant entrance which is both check-in and hosting. Without knowing where to go, it felt odd bringing our suitcase through the front of the restaurant. And, the rooms walls are thin and you can easily hear the people next to you. But neither of these should deter anyone from staying in this beautiful location.

The restaurant and bar are beautiful and away from the rooms but convenient enough to go from one to the other. The beds and pillows are super comfy and everything is clean. Everyone is kind, very helpful and pleasant. There are no TV's in the room, which was surprising but it was nice to unplug! You kind of feel like you are in a Hallmark movie. : ) The bistro has a great breakfast variety and amazing coffee!!

Rooms have no tvs, but that's ok.if only 1 night . Here is a big deal though..pillows are important ! 2 per person is great but one has to be foldy flatty for sleeping and one has to be a thick , firmy for propped reading ..they both can not be thick and firm . Linens were fine , mattress was too but the whimpy ,rain shower head ..I hope every inn installing these things sees the error and installs a hand held, especially when water pressure is weak .

I'm so glad the property has been repurposed and providing a needed destination spot for this little town .

Walls were paper thin and we could hear any and everything happening outside our room to the point where we weren't able to relax because it was so loud. Also, there was no TV to drown out the other guest's noises. You should have it written somewhere on your website that you don't have TVs.

Beautiful area and view. Room was small but cozy.

    Nothing

NewVida Preserve didn’t disappoint. We love the location-safe and super quiet(day and night), room-super cozy, clean and same as the one on the picture, backyard- with a lot of seats where you can relax, meditate and enjoy your coffee with the jaw dropping mountain view, , fire pit at night to keep you warm while watching the sunset, shared coffee area, restaurant in the hotel, they also offer yoga classes. Great location! It’s is like 10mins away from whiteface mountain, 20mins to lake placid and few mins away from a lot of restaurants, gas station, mini supermarket and hiking trails. Will recommend it! 💯

Our main disappointment was that Booking.com advertises that there are TWO (2) restaurants at the location. We were there for my birthday, expecting to enjoy a good diner but there was not even a sandwich; absolutely nothing was available to eat. My husband being diabetic, he needs to eat regularly; again we thought that diner would be eaten on the premises, but not so. Therefore, we had to drive, find a restaurant, eat before darkness as the roads are very curvy and unknown to us and then return to our room. Wine was out of the question! So, the birthday celebration was not at all what we had planned. We would NOT have booked on a Tuesday night if it had been explained that the two restaurants are closed at the beginning of the week. Falsely, the hotel even has a sign on the road to advertise the restaurants. Also, there was nothing to sit in the room, except the very high bed although a comfortable chair is shown on the pictures of our accommodation. The sink is in the room instead of the bathroom and the shower-bath is set up to be shared with an adjacent room. The WI-FI is not adequate. The refrigerator being placed directly ON THE FLOOR is not convenient.

The young woman, named Taylor, was pleasant and helpful. The location, although far from everything, is good if you are an outdoor enthusiast. The room was clean and the furniture of quality. The common area including the dining room (when food is available...) is large and has good light, there is a game room and a few sofas to watch TV. The outdoor must be enjoyable during the summer months. There are different services like massages available.

I spent a weekend at New Vida for a ski trip. The lodge exceeded expectations and has everything one would need for a ski weekend -- the rooms are cosy, there is a bistro to grab a quick snack before hitting the slopes, and a tasty restaurant with vegetarian options for the evening. My dad has memories of New Vida's past life, when it was Paleface ski resort, so it was especially cool to get to stay there and see its rebirth.

The main reason I would not return to this property is due to the fact that there is too much noise transfer between rooms. We could hear every cough and conversation and I’m sure it was the same for our neighbours. It almost felt like we were sharing a room! Also the plumbing makes knocking sounds. Additionally, but much less critical, they have gone very cheap on things like toilet paper and shampoo, and didn’t even provide a box of Kleenex. I just think that’s a false economy because they are saving pennies and leaving a cheap impression.

This property is very well situated to enjoy the high peaks of the Adirondacks. It is also a beautifully restored property with a lovely aesthetic featuring lots of wood and Adirondack style furniture.
