Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesI can't think of a thing.
We were less than five minutes away from friends who live there. It was only about 50 minutes from the Discovery Center in Hilo that we had an event "World Bee Day Hawaii". Wonderful water pressure, lots of hot water, large refrigerator too keep drinks cold. Great TV access, wonderful Internet. The best was all the extras they did: travel brochures and books about the Big Island, snorkeling equipment, beach chairs and umbrella, sunscreen. They provided all the things you'd need if you wanted to go to the beach or just travel around to other tourists sites.

United StatesSteep, narrow road to property. Country area with roosters, dogs and noisy critters at night. Closed the doors and windows and used the A/C for cooling and quiet at night. No view-just an old decrepit building across the street. Honokaa a few miles away. Hilo an hour or so. Kona 1.5 hours
Clean, modern rental. Nice bed, furniture and bathroom. A/C and a ceiling fan. Friendly younger couple were the owners.

United StatesIt was all great
It really was perfect for our needs. The room was large, the bed was comfortable, the kitchenette had everything we needed. The village nearby was quaint and had places to eat, but also less than an hour from bigger areas. There were a lot of free roaming animals in the whole area, which didn't bother us, but may others. The frogs' and birds do sing both night and morning, it was beautiful. But bring earplugs if that would prevent you from sleeping.

The room was spacious, updated and clean. Loved the kitchenette. Large bathroom and shower. Due to plane delays only got to spend one night. Hosts were very accommodating. Even brought me ice! 😊 Would definitely recommend a multiple night stay if you are exploring North Coast all the way to Hilo.

United StatesHonokaa is a great little town, it would have been nice if this was a bit closer. You are outside in a residential neighborhood and walking in would have been difficult.
Room was very clean and reasonably spacious. Bed was large and comfortable. Good hot water and decent pressure. We don't like to drive over the Saddle Road at night with the fog and goats so were looking for a place to crash on our way back to Puna. This place fit the bill well at a reasonable price.

United StatesThe drive down from the highway was a little daunting late at but that was it.
The room was exactly as expected, though the "ocean view" was over buildings. The room,en suite, had everything we needed. The kitchen unit was complete with coffee, tea, even oatmeal if we wanted to eat breakfast. We loved the bench in the front for night sky gazing (there is no light pollution there), and sitting in the morning watching the sunrise over the ocean. Beautiful! We were warned of feral roosters that might wake us but the room is well insulted.

United StatesAs others have mentioned, the yard is *dark* after the sun sets. Be prepared by having the outdoor light on or your phone flashlight ready!
Wonderful little spot perfectly positioned between Hilo and the Kohala beaches. This studio space is what we wish hotel rooms could be, with a comfy bed, ample table space, a kitchen that has all you need, and a spacious bathroom. Billy, the owner, was friendly and very helpful — and we appreciated the touches like the snorkel gear, beach chairs and towels, extra bathroom towels, etc.

Easy check in, very clear informations from the landlord and possibility to park. Close to several thing on the big island and great view from outside. The possibility to parking is very appreciated and few snorkeling + beach items were provided if in need. Very nice kitchen to cook a quick dinner after an entire day out and wanting to relax.
