I am not thrilled with the new mode of contactless check-in that seems to be taking over the bed and breakfast world. The owner was reachable by phone and answered right away but it still seemed rather impersonal. Fortunately I had received an email through Booking that did include a phone number or we would have been lost as to how to find keys to the inn. Air conditioning floor units were rather noisy.

The inn is a spectacularly preserved and renovated 1895 mansion on a Main Street in Olean, steps from restaurants and shops, yet very quiet at night. The breakfast, which (sadly) is now only served on weekends, was made to order with as many choices as one could want, and was delicious.

Air conditioning unit was very loud and needed instructions for correct usage. Room was too dark for easy reading…better lighting would be so helpful

Athena’s Building was so interesting, well kept and decorated. Beautiful floors and woodworking trims. Great breakfast, comfy bed. D since a

We did not find TV channels we used to watching with the service they use.

The house was built in the late 1800s, and the wood trim in the downstairs is beautiful. Our room was not large, but not cramped either. The bathroom was dated, and green tile with a pink bathtub. It did not bother us. It gave the property character. The location is convenient to restaurants, and their was a breakfast menu to choose from, and it was delicious.

Charming inn in gorgeously renovated mansion.

I didn't mind but there's a lot of stairs to get to some of the rooms.

Charming inn in gorgeously renovated old mansion. Each room is themed on a particular author, real furniture, and way more character and comfort than a chain hotel. I slept really well the room was quiet all night. It was nice to have use of the kitchen supplies and glassware and the coffee in the morning was very good. I didn't stay for breakfast but the options sounded tasty. Host was friendly and offered right on suggestions for restaurants in town.
