Sunset Key was Awesome!!! We highly recommend staying in the cottages! Amazing stay!! We were booked for the Opal Resort but they couldn’t get us near each other since we had different room types. They Recommended that we take Our group over to Sunset Key. I was apprehensive and concerned about the inconvenience of dealing with the ferry. The manager said don’t worry you are going To love it just trust Me….. Well she was right! It was Amazing!! Once you get used to the ferry it’s no big deal. This is the best experience ever! Private cottages that slept the 6 Of us. Every morning they dropped off a basket of goodies just as a surprise and delight gift! It was fantastic! Muffins, orange juice, liquid shots of healthy beverages… it was something different every morning! The restaurant Latitudes was incredible. All the excursions were conveniently located one little ferry ride away. Such an amazing stay! My family LOVED it and can’t wait to come back!

Air conditioner was very loud and leaked the whole time we were there and caused carpet to be soaked. The toilet had some issues with flushing. Inconvenient amenities such as shampoo and conditioner not being fully stocked in larger containers We had to request replenishment every day, which was very cumbersome.

The location was perfect. The staff were very friendly. Landscaping and facilities pretty clean but had some issues with room we stayed in.

I found it a bit pricey, but everything in Key West is pricey. Although I really enjoyed the pool area, it is not huge and it was very crowded. It would be nice to have changing rooms near the pool, instead it is a bathroom for a single person.

The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable, very clean. I’d liked the pool area. It would’ve been nicer to have more food choices close to the pool. Lomita‘s was the only restaurant there with a very limited menu. It was a nice little restaurant though. It was convenient to take the ferry behind the hotel to latitudes on the private island. Everything was very close in proximity for walking. Excellent location.

There was a lot of construction going on during this stay which was a bit of a damper...but hopefully it's wrapping up soon for our next visit in January of 2025.

This is our third time at Opal. We love the staff and the rooms, as well as time spent at the pool. They bring you cold washclothes, popsicles, smoothies, etc, which is nice on a hot day.

Walk to the elevator is a bit far!

Beautiful property that is close to everything, but not too close! Nice pool, and a hot tub with perfectly heated water. Free water bottles! Free cookies in the afternoon. Green mountain coffee pods.

I paid for an ocean view room however three out of four of the days there was a cruise ship docked for a majority of the day. The ship did usually leave before sunset however if you enjoy having your coffee with a view you will be looking at the ship.

Clean and great location. The pool was amazing and water was cold and refreshing. The staff at the pool bar were amazing and so attentive.

The room was kind of pricey, probably due to location of the property and the fact that Key West is pretty expensive overall.

The ladies at the front desk at check-in were so welcoming. Our marina-view location was beautiful. It was nice to be able to see the water, boats, and the activity along the marina. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable. The cleaning crew was accommodating and friendly. The location was just perfect. We walked everywhere! Lolita's had just re-opened after a renovation and the customer service was superb! The food was delicious, too. We ate breakfast there every morning because it was so good. The outside patio was great and the inside was comfortable and festive.

Because of shawna and brian in housekeeping and front desk im giving this property a 10 out if 11- she cared enough about me to locate my beautiful sweater and mail it to me immediately- i could cry i an so happy w opal key - we ended up at cirque in Sarasota another fabulous opal key resort- but shawna mailing my ssweater to me and a beautiful linen blouse i left was the kindest gesture ever- brain helped also

Location was perfect. Was able to walk to every destination. My favorite part was the pool area. To have a large pool, pool bar/restaurant in Key West, within walking distance of every place i was going, for this value was wonderful. Definitely worth the price of the room.

Due to construction, the Deck above the restaurant was not available to use. I believe it will be finished by the end of June. Just timing of our vacation so it was not a big dissatisfier. The newly renovated deck space will be beautiful with Sunset views of Key West.

Rooms were spacious, property and rooms were clean, staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Excellent location! They did a soft opening of the new Lolita restaurant and the food was fantastic.
