I booked the room through booking.com about 4 months before our visit. The price for 2 adults and 2 children (11 and 13 years old) was just under 300 USD with breakfast. After checking in I was told that breakfast was only for 2 people. The only solution was to pay for 2 breakfasts. Price on booking.com on the day was 60usd lower. There was no hand soap in the room, but this was solved very quickly by stuff. During our stay there was still a smell of marijuana in the hallway close to our room. The receptionist sent security, but unfortunately it was the same within an hour and during the night. A very unpleasant experience.

Location, very spacious rooms, well equipped rooms, nice gym. Update: After posting the review, I was quickly contacted by the hotel management and offered compensation for the problems, which I really appreciate.

Breakfast itself and service at breakfast was pretty poor! The restaurant is a concession so make sure you get your coupon if your breakfast is included in your room rate! Parking is also really expensive!

Great location. Comfy rooms! The milk and cookies coupon for the kids was a very cute touch!

The room was very clean and comfortable tho on the small side. No robes or slippers, but a yoga mat? The staff was friendly and I do recommend the breakfast at the restaurant in the lobby - the eggs Benedict were most excellent.

Rooms aren’t cheap, but hotels in the area that are not as nice are charging similar rates

Unfortunately we only stayed one night since we are within an hour’s proximity, but decided to book Kimpton because of their convenient pet-friendly policy. We ended up not having our dog that night, but I would definitely stay here again. The staff was outrageously helpful and friendly, the hotel is beautiful, clean and well appointed, beds super comfortable, and the convenience of the restaurant attached (bar makes a good stiff drink) made Kimpton Palomar the perfect place to stay. I plan on staying here again in the future.

I would have sacrificed some bathroom space for living/bedroom space. The bathroom was huge and nice though. Jacuzzi tub not really necessary. Impossible to get a breakfast table unless you made a reservation ahead. Wait would have been 1 hr if no reservation. Good thing I stayed several days to find that out. No one's fault but there was a fire alarm that went off at 11 pm. A bit inconvenient, as one of my kids was already asleep and I had to wake him.

Room was clean and comfortable. Lots of amenities like happy hour w/ wine selection, free non buffet breakfast, $20 room credit per night for snacks, nice gym.

The overall experience was great! Awesome location, walking distance to other restaurants, shopping stores etc. The cleanliness could have been better. I wore all black sweats upon my arrival and sat on the couch to watch TV, and as soon as I got up, I noticed a nice amount of animal hair on my pants. The center table in the sitting area looked to have dog food on it. The bathroom shower head had grime on it. Appeared white and brown. The bathroom sink stopper was jamed down. When running water, there was no release.

City living sometimes can be challenging. And in this case, the valet parking was a bit challenging. With no true access of moving your car off the street and thus getting in and out with traffic all around, this “task” was difficult. The staff was courteous, helpful and polite. The accommodations were fine. The location was perfect. The extra charges & hidden fees were a bit ridiculous. Too many extra charges. This should have been more upfront.
