How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Breakfast was from 7am to 9 am & put out in small quantities. Everything shut down at 10pm on a holiday weekend. They served you until 10pm at the restaurant then expected you to eat in your room. Not sure why but the water in my room was brown. These are things I feel they should look into.

Verified reviewWe were in town for a family reunion. It was clean. Staff was so pleasant . All the staff was. I slept so well and missed breakfast. I went up to see if restaurant was open. It was not with was fine. But the staff member offered me oatmeal and fruit. So kind !! We had 3 rooms my kids and aunt and cousins and grandkids had a wonderful stay. We will definitely be back.

Roaches in room, as soon as you walk in the lobby you get an overpowering smell of chlorine because of the pool. You can't even see the pool from the lobby. The free breakfast sucked it wasn't even eatable. Would not recommend this hotel for anyone.

This hotel was the worst place my family has stayed by far. I wouldn’t recommend for my worst enemy. We wore water shoes in the shower.

The smell of chlorine from the pool was OVERWHELMING...I could hardly breathe, I had to cover my face to sleep it was so strong. My eyes were burning also....I will never stay there again. The mattresses felt like the original 70s mattresses..my husband turned over and I almost bounced on the floor. The bathtubs are pretty bad...but the shower head has a strong spray..the only good thing...dont walk barefoot the carpets are disgusting.

Verified reviewThe entire indoor area was nice and convenient especially the pool being indoor so no worries about my toddler getting too much sun. The staff was always very nice even when we had problems. Breakfast was hot and decent during the week, the weekends they brought out the good stuff, waffles, biscuits and gravy etc. Housekeeping was always super polite and provided us with whatever we needed very quickly. There was a notice that the hotel will be having renovations soon such as replacing carpet etc so hopefully soon it will be more updated and cleaner. If that is the case, we would stay there again if ever in the area.
The only negative thing about our stay was about cleanliness. The carpet in our room was almost sticky and my socks were black within 10 minutes of walking around the room. It looked like the room had a basic wipe down and fresh toiletries but other than that I needed a deep clean. We had a problem with a few bugs here and there which we told the front desk about. We asked to switch rooms but there was not another available on the interior, only exterior so we decided to stay in our current room.

Verified reviewThe room temperature was as cold as we wanted to make it. The food was yummy. The pool was great. The music was awesome. The pool was the best! My little one had a blast with everything from the putt-putt/play area-arcade-to pool. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is a staple of San Angelo so it’s been here since as long as I can remember (though with different names). I decided to try it out on our stay this time (we come often) just to see how it’s coming along. They’re doing more renovations so it’s still a work in progress but I’m impressed with all they’ve done. I love it! Pearl of the Concho will be our go-to hotel from now on. I can’t wait to see what the finished product will be but we were happily satisfied with our stay. Great job to everyone who is keeping this hotel a comfortable, fun, & enjoyable stay away from home. AND for continuing to make it a special part of San Angelo… my wonderful home town.
I would’ve liked to have a microwave in our room but no biggie and I know they’re still modernizing the rooms so I’m sure those will come. I don’t like that no outside food can be eaten at the tables by the play area. Not sure the reason for that. I mean… they are tables.

Breakfast was awful. Actual roaches crawling on counter where food is served. I can’t imagine the back kitchen. Mosquitoes flying all around pool area and bugs in the room . I can handle that more than the roaches .
