The staff were disorganized and lacked basic knowledge of the place or customer service.

Almost everything! Food, amenities, location, decor, bbq, all amazing.

The walls are thin, the valet isn’t always available, the pillows are awful, not enough people making eggs at the breakfast.

Great location, amenities and overall a place worth to stay at.

We found a big cut nail close to our bed and we were overcharged. We contacted the staff at the property and they told us that they refunded the amount, but the money never came.

Location is stunning. Bedroom was comfortable and clean. Nice family vibe. Everything else was underwhelming for the very high price. This was our only option on the island for an event, so we booked!

Limited number of young, overworked though friendly staff struggling to get everything done. Somewhat tired and not very stylish common facilities, no sense that there is a purpose and drive to make this the best. At this price you would expect everything to be thought through for the guest, but I waited a week for a reply to an advance query I had, we spent a lot of time hanging around at the ferry port waiting for pickup, we were told there was no car pickup after 11pm, we made up our own pool beds. The pool toilet facility was pretty awful. The food was fine but not great. Staff were friendly and helpful when they appeared, but clearly overstretched. None of this would be a problem for us had we not been paying $1200 for one night! It feels as if the Pridwin is taking advantage of its status as the only big hotel on the island.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated with respect & kindness. The hotel is in a lovely location with a stunning view from the back covered patio & deck. Our room was comfortable and clean. We had a nice view of the grounds, ocean & pool area. The breakfast buffet was simple, but fine for our taste. Chefs were preparing made to order omelets which is what we ordered, along with avocado toast, fresh fruit, & pastry.

I loved this hotel. Beautiful decorated old school hotel feeling. Beautiful setting right across from lake. Pool and pool service were wonderful. Room was exceedingly comfortable. Staff were very efficient and lovely. Live music in restaurant one of the nights.

Rooms were very pricey although we got discounted rates because we stayed on weekdays before summer season was in full swing.

The Wednesday evening BBQ was great and very enjoyable. Good band.

It feels so nostalgic either the wrap around deck, Adirondack chairs on the lawn, hydrangeas and seating areas throughout the property

I liked everything, the staff is all new and needs training. The food at the restaurant is fair at best. I wish the food was better so we didn’t have to leave the property.

The views, the pool, tennis court and beach.

Beautifully landscaped and cared for. Beautifully appointed interiors and exteriors.

Special wine dinner for Mothers Day was wonderful

First night we were in small room by service closet and were up all night with noise! They moved us second night to beautiful room. Also staff a bit unprepared for opening day

The location and hospitality.

The pool was closed - which was not mentioned in their website. It was not value for money for me, as there was hardly any activities. If the pool was closed, they should have compensated the guests - maybe lunch, dinner or even a spa - in some way.

We had the most wonderful Mother’s Day weekend here. The service, food, and amenities were excellent, creating a truly peaceful atmosphere. Being by the water, listening to the birds, and sipping on delicious cocktails was simply priceless. We already loved Shelter Island, but staying at The Pridwin made us fall in love with it even more. It’s the perfect spot for a staycation, especially during the quieter off-season like May!
