How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. We had a broken security lock, missing light bulbs, the table was about to fall apart, it smelled like cigarettes, the toilet ran almost constantly, and we found bed bugs.

Verified reviewWonderful room.Very clean and cozy Wonderful location. Felt very safe in area. Staff were extremely nice and helpful. Bed was so comfortable. Slept better than I have in a while. Thank you to all staff.
All was good. I wouldn't change anything unless they could keep pool open all night. lol. Did have some smell from animals being in hotel, but I love my animals and not a problem. Only noticed in hallway.

The dirty floors, hair on the toilet paper and toilet, no curtains or blinds so parking lot lights lit it up like it was daytime, smelled like urine, pet fur on the floor, clock and phone didn’t work, doors to other entrance was unlocked and people could walk in off the street, layer of dust over everything in the room , mattress had holes, sheets were dirty

Screaming kids running up and down the hallway when we arrived. The smell of dog urine is in the air constantly. The lock on the door was broken. Broken tiles on floor in bathroom. Mold in the shower. Water pressure is bad. TV remote doesn't work for the TV in the room. Fridge is leveled with a hanger. Dogs barking all night. And we had someone try to get in our room at midnight.

I was surprised with a over inflated additional cost for my dog ($50.00) that wasn't even disclosed to me at the time of the booking. Why did I say the the cost for my dog from this hotel is over inflated, because I'll e staying at another hotel the weekend of the 25th and the cost is half of that even though it is a Hilton. This location also charges the guest $15.00 to use the pool, which I didn't use

I've stayed in thousands of hotel rooms over 40 years and I can honestly say this was the worst. Firstly there was no cold water going to our room. Only extremely hot. It was not possible to take a shower. Then the toilet didn't flush due to low water pressure. The floor in the entire room was plastic linoleum with no carpet at all. The bed had no blankets, just a sheet and a duvet cover with no duvet in it. The hallway floors are splitting in half down the center like it was in an earthquake. When we went to our room for the 1st time, the entire hallway was filled with smoke and the smell of burned food. Oh and I forgot to mention, a bunch of people actually live in these rooms full time. We couldn't sleep because someone had a pet bird in one of the rooms that screetched all night and another room had a dog that was barking! There was no soap or toiletries at all. No ice bucket. No trash cans. The walls are all destroyed and patched and the trim is falling off. The power outlet in the bathroom is shoved into the wall. It feels more like a jail cell than a hotel room. The best part was when we checked in, the clerk told us that we were lucky they still had a room available, although I booked it 3 weeks in advance and paid for the room in full 3 days prior! They were going to give my room away that I already paid for!!!!!! Please, unless you are desperate, find a different place to stay.

Nothing in the room. No phone, no coffee maker, no alarm clock. The ceiling in the bathroom was leaking water, one ceiling panel was all the way down on to the shower curtain bar. Dirty bathtub.
