How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWe didn't like any anything except for the location.
The entire room!!!!!! The door on the bathroom didn't close, The toilet was very low. The bathroom walls had paint chipping. The bathtub had rust stains. The sink didn't have a stopper, had rust stains and was filthy! The blue slip covers on the pillows had bleach stains. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

Verified reviewThey did not provide breakfast, which I knew when booking. They had no pool, but had a weight room. There are no elevators to the second floor, which I said I would never stay at a hotel that doesn't have an elevator. But, for the price, I should have known. Anyway, there was a glitch in trying to cancel. The manager was very accommodating and said he would not charge a fee. But, getting through booking was horrible. So, we changed plans and stayed anyway. As I said there is no breakfast, BUT there is a Quick Trip right across the street and we went there to get a pizza, which they cook for you. They also have a huge variety of other foods. So, we got donuts for breakfast and sandwiches and drinks for the drive home.
It would be nice to have an elevator, but not all hotels offer that. I tried to cancel, as I said. The manager was very nice, but booking was horrible. You do not talk to a person, but AI and that is NOT helpful. So, we changed our plans to stay anyway. My daughter and her girls stayed in another room and said the shower was really bad, squirting a little bit and everywhere. So, we opted not to shower there. They may want to check that.

Everything! No one sits at the check in desk. You have to call to ask them to come up and they answer as if they don't know what is needed. Then on check out we called to get our receipt and no one even answered so we threw the keys on the desk and left. The room and cleanliness was DISGUSTING!! A couple we were with left at 4 am because they were so uncomfortable with how gross it was. One sheet was gray (supposed to be white) with visible stains. One bed was missing a blanket but the one we had was so stained and dirty it was gross. The coverlets were so dirty I stripped the beds and couldn't use anything, Bad pillows, navy blue towels...can't be bleached for cleanliness, YUCK! one coffee pod for the two of us, toilet paper in bathroom almost empty and dead bugs on the floor. I would not stay here again if you paid me! Worst place we have EVER stayed!
We are sorry your stay wasn't as expected... We pride ourselves on cleanliness and strive to improve... The bedding might be old but all laundry is always cleaned with color safe bleach. For only $63 including tax this budget hotel can only provide so much... Take care of yourself & thanks for your feedback !

Hair in bed, ants in bathroom, tv unplugged.. had to play it for a half hour to use figure it out. Front door left open all night, tried to call staff and address the issues prior to check out and nobody answered.
Sorry you didn't have a good experience. You could have called the front desk for assistance with your tv. We gladly would have helped. Sorry about the ants... The Handicap lady across the hall had ordered food multiple times but never picked it up it was in the hallway across from your room. We normally don't have this sort of issue. You did talk to someone at the desk at check out and mentioned the issues, which was conveyed. We have never had any issues with security at our facility and MOST ALL hotels leave their front entry way unlocked 24 hours a day. We are staffed 24 hours a day and the front desk staff does go around periodically and they do watch the cameras when in the laundry room. The local sheriffs department does also patrol the area at night. We do hope to host you again with a better result.

Verified reviewThere was no breakfast other than coffee in the room, but I knew that before I booked. Across the street is the Luxembourg Cafe and a McDonald's, where one can have breakfast. This is a great location just off of Interstate 43 and less than a mile west of wonderful Harrington Beach State Park on Lake Michigan.

Verified reviewGood location, convenient parking. Spacious room. Comfortable and clean bed. Bathroom sufficiently clean. Nice talk to receptionist, he pointed me to a place to eat dinner and breakfast nearby.
Vending machines could be more modern and better. A bit noisy neighbours, but this is no fault to the venue.

It was the nicest, most plush hotel bed ive ever slept on and ive been some nice places. The whole building smells wonderful. Theres fish tanks in the lobby! Highly recommend
