Location was great right next to Cal campus and Bart train. Breakfast was very good. Nice large rooms and great work out room.

We had to change rooms after being awakened at 0600 hrs due to a loud extended “pipe digging” sound above us. There is a bar above #1128, but the manager had no notice of planned activity at that time. She moved us to a larger, more comfortable room which we greatly appreciated. Room #1127 had no hot water, and my Mother was moved also. Room keys did not operate all floors in the elevators, and I was later told they should. One cannot get ice from other floors if the key only works for one floor. During breakfast, a couple of homeless were spotted getting piles food and going out the back exit. More workers are needed to watch for this. It is not sanitary, and guests do not pay for this. Valets need more help during high census times. The valet text feature only worked once for us. Parking is very expensive at $54 per day.

The property is very convenient to UC Berkeley and my daughter’s place in Berkeley. There’s a lot of eateries and convenience stores you can walk to. The property is newish and kept clean. For someone who eats a carnivore diet, I found the breakfast to be hearty with plenty of eggs and bacon. Breakfast workers are extremely courteous.

Breakfast was excellent, lots of choices and tasted great. The room was large and the mini kitchen was so cute my kids opted to cook in rather than dine out. The bathroom was a great layout for a crew of 4. They welcomed my dog with a dog treat at the front desk too. Would love to stay here again.

Convenient location for downtown Berkeley. Next to BART subway, UC Berkeley and dozens of restaurants and shopping options within walking distance. I especially enjoyed the kitchen and was able to cook several meals for friends and family during our for night stay.

Invest more in a broader range of pillow options: some softer, some firmer, some larger, some smaller.

We loved it all! We loved the staff especially - all the staff, the valets, the front desk, the cleaning staff, the food service staff, etc. We especially want to thank Rhashana, our food service provider from Nepal. Rhashana greeted us every morning and made sure we were happy. Thank you Rhashana and thank you Marriott!

Unfortunately, we did not know we visited Residence Inn for overnight on UCB freshman orientation weekend & hotel was super busy w/ lots of guests. (I graduated over 4 decades ago from UCB & love Berkeley, but my daughter & I wanted a quieter accommodation.)

Lovely 4th floor clean, quiet, roomy king bed/ suite. Enjoyed “Study Hall” rooftop bar, breakfast had good & solid healthy food choices. Appreciated quick, courteous valet parking in congested Berkeley.

Better explanation of the parking rules. You cannot retrieve your own car. Other than that it was great.

Excellent breakfast -on of the better I have had. Great staff, very helpful. Location is wonderful, close to restaurants and the UC campus. Parking is valet-only, though. The views were also amazing.
