The AC in my room was not ideal…..the room constantly stayed humid and sticky feeling…it was a very hot couple of days but I stayed one night here and one night at the hotel across the street just a day later and the hotel across the street did not have as much trouble keeping the room from being so sticky and humid. The hotel in general needs a facelift and updating.

The room was not well cleaned. The furniture was old. There were stains on the pullout mattress and the pillow stains were disgusting.

Easy check in and check out. Right across from the Mississippi State Campus. Grab and go breakfast was great.

The room had a musty smell which may be unavoidable in a high humity climate. The pull out couch bed was extremely uncomfortable.

Breakfast was good and there was plenty of food. The first morning we went down late and the second morning we went early with no issues. The food worker, Renee, was friendly and helpful.

The room could've been cleaner (hair tie in floor beside the lamp. Had to step on switch on floor to turn on lamp so looking where to step it was in view. We didn't go looking behind furniture! ) The sleeper sofa mattress was pitiful.

Breakfast was great. All of the staff was friendly. We were in town for a campus tour, so this was perfectly placed for that.

Shower curtains poor condition, installed improperly, would not stay closed and water got on bathroom floor.

Clean rooms, location of inn, decent breakfast. Friendly staff.

Our room had an odd smell upon entering, and the air conditioner was leaking a puddle of water into the carpet. This could have been the reason for the smell.

The location was great and the amenities were great!

Only thing I didn’t like was on the day I was supposed to check out, I was woken up to a housekeeper coming in my room to clean. I’m sure she probably knocked but I was asleep and didn’t hear it. I did have the “do not disturb” sign on the door. This was around 9am and check out is not until 11. Thankfully, someone needed assistance before she made complete entrance so she walked off leaving the door cracked. I quickly got up and bolted the door. Everything worked out and in her defense, she didn’t know I was in there., but it would be more helpful and save from walking in on someone in the future, to maybe check with front desk to see if guests have checked out before coming in? Things happen and this in no way will prevent me from coming back.

Breakfast was good. Had plenty options available. I felt very safe and comfortable and it is very close to restaurants. Outside presentation was very nice and clean, as was the inside. The rooms did have stains in the chairs and the carpet turned my socks black after a few minutes but that’s to be expected with as many people that come in and out. The room was spacious and the air worked really well. If you like a firm feeling mattress, this is for you! Check in/out was fast and staff was very friendly. Price wise, it is a great choice if you’re not wanting to spend an arm and a leg but want something better than the cheapest. They do hold out an $100 fee in addition to your room total upon check in, which will be credited back to you at checkout after they check the room for damages. All in all this is the place to stay in Starkville. Very nice and safe area for you and your family to enjoy.

The room window was fogged up. The room had a stale smell. The hotel and rooms Ned updating for the price to match.

Front desk was so friendly! And, we were conveniently located to walk to campus and to Cotton District and downtown.

The rooms and interior of the hotel could be updated to newer finishes. One of the ice machines on our floor was not working. Large puddles in the parking lot that were hard to avoid.

The breakfast was good and plenty of options. I liked the location of the property. The rooms were a good size for my family of 4. Checking in was easy and no wait was required. Overall we would stay here again.

My stay was made very pleasant by the staff. Attentive without being artificial. They were the best part of my experience. Thank you so much for your kindness during a stressful time. The facilities are clean and operated by Mississippi State. And bears to mind that I should mention this hotel is DIRECTLY ACROSS the street from campus with easy access to Davis Wade Stadium on big game days. I recommend the Russell Inn for the genuine staff and location. I’d stay with them again if I revisit Starkville.
