How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe loved the peace and quiet. Lovely view of the mountains around us. We loved the antique look it reminded us of our younger years of growing up. The place was beautiful.
There was nothing we did not like.

Verified reviewThe cabin was comfortable and quaint. The decorations were cute to look at and not overly done. Small signs located throughout to advise, which was a great benefit. The location was such a bonus. It was easy to access I-77 or.take the scenic route if you wanted. There were so many wonderful suggestions of places to visit, like trails, state parks, and restaurants. The host was kind enough to let us know about a local mountain coaster that had just opened up. Plus, she left a good amount of starter wood for us to have couple nights with a fire. The check in and check out was super simple. The tasks needed for the check out were basic minimal items, like empty refrigerator, place used towels in the tub and take out the trash.
Not having enough time, even with a four day stay. So many things we wanted to do and see
Thank you Carol for the nice review! You and your sister are welcome back at anytime

Verified reviewTheir historical home is fabulous and quaint. Each room was so unique showing off the antiques, historical clothing and such. I loved that they left information on the history of the home, land and area. Their land is amazing with plenty of wildlife viewing and walking opportunities in such beauty. It was like stepping back into history and you could imagine how the Shawnee lived there on the land near the river, then the settlers and their farm.
I loved everything about it; nothing to dislike! I only stayed one night, next visit hopefully will be longer.

Verified reviewThe location was perfect, beautiful area with deer's around the whole time there. The coziest cabin that accommodates 2 people perfectly. Has all convenience you could want & still has furnishings that takes you back to my younger days. The bed is very comfortable, fireplace with 2 really comfortable recliners in livingroom. If you need a place to unwind & like to have some peace & quiet this would be the perfect place to go to. Also check in was really easy, communication with owner also excellent.
There was not a thing that my husband and I disliked.

Verified reviewIt's a lovely old log home, filled with various collectibles and antiques. Very well kept. The property is wonderful with the old trees and big, open field. We saw deer and geese every morning and night. The sunroom is delightful. If you're interested in the story of the homestead and its former inhabitants, there's tons of information provided. If you like diners, Dolly's Diner in Princeton is a must!
Overall, we were very happy with our stay—just a couple of small gripes. We were told there would be wood for the fire pit, and there wasn't. The photo shows 5 lovely Adirondack chairs around the fire ring, but there is only one park bench-style seat. She told us where we could collect firewood ourselves, but as it turned out the weather wasn't conducive (rainy evenings). The only other thing I'd mention is the house sits along US Highway 19, so while you have acres and acres of fields, you also have road noise and headlights in the bedroom windows. Oh! And one more thing - make sure you CONFIRM where the key will be located as we were given outdated information and were out in the rain looking for the right spot ;-)

Verified reviewHistoric homestead that has been well preserved. Comfortable home for the price of a nice hotel room.
The traffic noise was quite loud in the downstairs bedroom.

Verified reviewWe loved the 100 year old cabin. It was beautiful. The view from the sunroom was unbelievable. We saw deer, geese and squirrels everyday. It was so relaxing. Owner had left a lot of information about the family and the area.
We had wished that there was air conditioning but understood how that would change the look of the antique cabin. Fans worked really well

Verified reviewWithout a doubt this was the best place I’ve ever stayed. This beautiful history-rich log cabin, furnished with great antiques, was so peaceful and serene. Upon our arrival, which was after dark, we were greeted with soft lighting, candles in the windows and a fire in the original fireplace (electric logs). We slept like babies. In the morning, a mist was rising from the fields as we drank our coffee on the sunporch. We were even called upon by Diesel The Farm Dog, looking for his biscuit from a box on the porch. This place was so completely furnished that I could’ve left half the stuff I’d packed at home. The shower was full of a nice array of shampoos, conditioners and shower gel. Carla promptly responds to any text with questions. She had an interesting history of the cabin which has been in her family for generations on the kitchen table for us to read. We can’t wait to stay there again!
There was absolutely nothing wrong with this delightful place.
Laura, the pleasure was all ours to have you as our guest. We love guests who share our passion for history. Thank you for your kind review.
