Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The only small issue could be that there is no room cleaning daily, but we asked for clean towels and they brought in 5 minutes or so.
Just Perfect! We were 6 friends staying in 2 suites and staff was kind enough to give us rooms next to each other, so we had opened door and had all the fun together. Room was very clean and everything worked very well. Location is perfect, next to the bus stop.

There really wasn’t anything we could think of.
Such a lovely hotel. Everything was neat and clean and it was so good having our own kitchenette and free laundry just down the corridor. The hotel even supplied packets of laundry powder.

pretty close to rough looking area. wouldn't walk around neighborhood after dark. kind of pricey for such an area

Everything was great.
The location and suite were amazing! Walking distance to everything. Very helpful staff that accommodated our every need. I plan to stay here every time I'm in SF from now on!

Downtown is in walking distance. We were positively surprised by the quality of the hotel. The furniture and equipments were really nice. Coffee machine was great with complimentary pods. It the hall they also offered fresh coffee in the morning and lemon/cucumber water during the day. Staff were helpful and kind.

Some of the staff at the front desk are not friendly and not smiling. Not accomodating. The person who checked me in is not smiling. 😩 I think she is half Filipino. The white guy at the front desk is not that friendly & snob.

Just 1 block away the neighbourhood is rough but it can easily be avoided.
We stayed in a suite with 1 bedroom, 1 sofa bed and a kitchenette. We were really comfortable, there was enough space for the 3 of us. The hotel is nice, there is a playroom with a pool table and the location is central.

The location was not too far from the major sights. Unfortunately we didnt realize until the end of our stay thay the cablecar stop was just 3 blocks away from the hotel. Right after we checked in, we were directed to the concierge who held us up for a little bit trying to get us to attend what I assume was a timeshare presentation. Fortunately, nobody asked us again during our stay. Also, we had an issue with our toilet and asked if someone could fix it on our way out, and when we returned to the room at the end of the day it had not been fixed. We ended up handling it ourselves because it was very late in the day.
The lobby and the rooms were very nicely decorated and everything was very clean. The bed was comfortable, and we were provided with everything we needed 6 our stay. It was great to have a kitchen and kitchenware available to use (everything except a stove/oven). The staff was friendly and helpful. They recommended a restaurant for breakfast only a few blocks away - we ate there every day and it was so good (and there was a discount for hotel guests).

Room is spacious for 4 people with full equipped cooking ware. Location is closed to tourist attractions by walking.
