How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.

You didn't even check in with a human, it's over a kiosk with a person on the screen. I was told my deposit would be able to be waived but had to pay in full for deposit at arrival. The pool was dirty, and mold all around windows seal. The little old lady who serves breakfast at least it was the same lady both days my family and I were there is extremely rude beyond belief. Couldn't wait to get out of there.

We stayed for one night and were put in a connecting room, which was not ideal. The hotel lacks security guards and is located in a dangerous neighborhood. There were three men in the next room, and we kept hearing disturbing sounds that suggested someone was beating a child. When we called the front desk, the response was dismissive, as if I was overreacting. Upon returning to our room, my husband informed me that the situation had escalated. I heard the children crying, clearly distressed and calling for their mother. We eventually decided to call the police. After knocking on their door several times and hearing them leave the room, we awaited the authorities, only to find that by the time they arrived, the child was gone. The most troubling aspect is that the entire establishment offered no protection. We were scheduled to check out at noon, but had to leave at 6 AM, which disrupted our plans. My husband ultimately failed his test because he couldn’t get a proper night’s sleep. It’s frustrating to think that if the front desk staff had taken our concerns seriously, they might have been able to intervene and potentially save a child’s life instead of belittling our alarm. We were there for a good night's sleep, and we left feeling unsafe and unsettled. Lastly, after falling asleep around 3 am we woke up yet again to the other connecting room trying to open our door. After I could no longer sleep. Horrible experience!

Verified reviewThe staff were friendly, I liked how close it was to interesting restaurants and the beach.
We had to switch rooms right off the bat because of a lot of BLOOD being all over the window shade (photos do no justice to the amount, I work in an industry that I can ensure you that was blood.), and the room being dirty. Second room smelled bad of mildew to the point I could barely breathe and could tell why after cleaning the filter out of the AC unit. My boyfriend had to clean it and I came back a few hours later so it was tolerable. The carpets were badly stained and felt grimy so we had to wear shoes the entire time indoors which felt odd. We didn’t want to inconvenience the front desk staff again for another room change but if I could have switched hotels I would have.

I was charged twice for stay. We checked out Thursday, July 31 and was told i would get my refund. As of August 4th I still do not see my refund. As well as I booked the king suite with kitchen. The first day I was put in a regular king room. The next day we were moved to a king with couch, still not what I Reserved and paid for.

The breakfast was disappointing. No waffle maker and the pancake maker was not available. The refrigerator was hot and the milk and yogurt were ‘warm’.

Verified reviewI was not able to secure our door which the front desk said there was no maintenance guy onsite till the beginning of the week. Said he could not do anything about it. We couldn’t go out to eat or go to the beach because of the lack of security for our room. Horrible experience to be told tough luck we can’t do anything about it. I would expect better from a reputable name. Wasted the weekend baby sitting our room instead of going to the beach. I deserve a refund
