The location overlooking Oak Creek is simply wonderful with an abundance of wildlife! The infinity pool is well maintained and offers a very refreshing cool-down after hiking on a warm summer day. The food and service on the patio of Saltrock were excellent!

The pool area was small. Pool was dirty and no attendant cleaning the area.

The fact that there is no bathroom/shower near the pool but one has to walk through the lobby, reception area for a toilet. Furthermore, the room was difficult to access with a pram

I thought as a boutique hotel, it would be more couples, but there were a lot of children and families at the resort, took away some of the peace, quiet and relaxation due to all the kids

An amazing location located right on Oak Creek. The staff was amazing so helpful and friendly.

I would avoid rooms 326,328 and surrounding rooms if you like sitting outdoors on balcony /patio. These rooms have pathetic patio facing fence and air conditioner. I was very disappointed because I picked the hotel so I could view the mountains from my room and have coffee. Very bad rooms for that and at $700 a night very disappointed.

Lovely rooms and outdoor sitting area.

Excellent place and enjoyed our stay. The restaurant is excellent. Our only complaint was the smell in our room. It smelled like wet socks or dog or sneakers. We suffered through it because we didn’t want the bother of moving and we were gone all day. That said, it wasn’t pleasant, especially for the room price.

The corridor was long and required exiting and reentering the building twice and going down a few stairs before reaching our room facing the creek. The doors' paint was scratched and cheap-looking.

The view from the room to the creek was amazing. The room was spacious and had everything we could possibly need. The location is great, and the valette service was fast and convenient. The restaurant was good too, although quite expensive.

We had booked an upstairs suite, but we're "upgraded" to a downstairs junior suite. The suite was large with a separate living area & two bathrooms with 2 balconies. However, the noise coming from upstairs each night was awful. There is not enough insulation at all between floors. The first night, children were running for hours & sounded like they were pounding the floors. The subsequent nights, you could hear when guests opened & closed sliding doors, walked or rolled suitcases. We've never stayed in a place where we heard every movement upstairs, even while wearing earplugs & and leaving a fan app on high. I really liked this hotel, but I would not recommend staying on the ground floor.

We spent 6 days at Amara the week of Christmas. Pros: Amazing staff-- especially the valet staff who were always quick & courteous. Valet is included with your stay. We ate at Salt Rock twice & the servers were attentive & the food was delicious. We especially enjoyed brunch on Christmas Day. We had a ground floor suite with balconies facing Oak Creek. The views were lovely & it was great to enjoy coffee or tea while taking in sunrise or sunset. There's an Illy pod espresso maker, mini fridge, electric tea kettle, & they provide toiletry essentials like toothpaste, toothbrush, floss, swabs, etc. It's a quick uphill walk to the main street with all the uptown shops & restaurants. They offer golf cart rides up the hill for people with limited mobility, but we never needed it. The location was excellent. We even walked to Elote Cafe. Great communication & text reminders from housekeeping asking if you need anything if, like us, you keep the 'do not disturb' sign on during your stay. Kind & understanding reception staff who tried to remedy a noise problem.

My gripe as with most hotels is no overhead lighting in the room. I was having to use the flashlight on my phone to look at things. A light in each corner of the room doesn’t work for me.

    Beautiful hotel.
