Location was wonderful, if you have a car. Close to shopping, university and freeways. Also very quiet and private. The patio and koi pond was like a private zen garden.

Outside down Stairs to the street and up and upstairs to the garbage are very challenging for anyone who has difficulty with stairs.

Their house was dirty, the bed was all messed up, and all the towels were used and soiled. The housemaid tried to enter the house while I was already there and I was changing my clothes at the time it was insulting and inconvenient it was a very bad place to stay I do not recommend it to anyone

"Offering you a great stay is my top priority. If, for any reason, you feel that I have not earned your 5-star rating, please let me know and I will do everything in my power to make it right." - included in an email sent by the host before our stay. Our stay was not a 5-star rating, and it was not made right by the host. Upon check-in, the place was not cleaned from the previous guest - there were used towels on the floor in the bathroom and the bed was unmade. We notified the host who said she would arrange a cleaner to be there. We received a text at 8:15pm that night to inform us that the cleaning couldn't be done until the next morning and hope that worked for us. We were speechless that she expected us to still sleep there the first night. As a result, we checked into another place for the night. We requested a full refund from the host. Didn't get it. So we went back to stay at the place for the remainder of our reservation. We requested a partial refund for just the first night. Thought that would be fair. Host replied, we'll get back to you shortly. Nothing happened. Host kept telling us to call Booking. Booking kept telling us to talk to the host. It was very a very frustrating experience to have to deal with this. In addition, the wall heater in the main room did not work and the bed was uncomfortable as the mattress was sunken in near where the headboard was. All in all, we were not happy with our stay as well the customer service from the host. Very disappointed that there was no compromise and we couldn't get the first night refunded back.

This is a lovely place to stay in a very safe location with excellent links to the BART station that allows easy access all over Berkeley and San Francisco. The Star grocery store is 10 minutes walk away and they have an amazing and unusual selection of foods. Their cheese selection and gluten free bread was fabulous. Zachary's Pizza just down on College Ave served the best gluten free pizza I have ever eaten

Quite honestly, there was nothing that would put me off staying there again

The owners handled a booking mistake badly. My belongings were carelessly packed and removed. I returned to the unit late at night with my 6 year son and found the unit empty. The agent confirmed that they had the correct phone number but they still claimed they had called me before removing my belongings (not true!). We were told to leave the property immediately even though our belongings (including our passports) had been returned to us. Of course I refused to leave until our belongings were returned. By the time we were able to check into a hotel it was near midnight. Unsafe and callous!

Its adequate space for 1 to 2 people

Rotting cheese in freezer, dirty sheets, dirty blankets, dingy dirty towels, musty dirty smell. Hair on pillow cases, hair tye on the floor, you cannot use towels to dry your hands because their smell is so bad. I checked out immediately.

It was in a quiet neighborhood. The cost was better than the noisy hotels downtown. It was an apartment-like room in a larger house and had a homey feel. It was also convenient to visit my daughters in Berkeley.

The check-in instructions were complete, but could be arranged better for clarity. I spent a few minutes looking for a gate with a number pad on it when it was actually on the door to our room. Also, the street in front is narrow and steep, but we were advised we could park with our right wheels on the curb which worked well.

The location was great. The accommodations -- entry room/kitchen, bathroom, bedroom -- were large enough for two people.

We didn't like the mold in the coffee maker (which we later learned was also reported by a guest the prior month), the leftover water in both the tea kettle and the electric water boiler (for a $100 cleaning fee, the place should be spotless and ready for the next guest), the funky sponge at the kitchen sink, the bizarre electrical and wiring system (cords, makeshift outlets, etc.), the ill-fitting bottom sheet, and the dangerous placement (right next to the bed) of the heating panel affixed to the wall. Other guests were happier than we were and that's great. We wouldn't return.

    Beautiful small apartment in Berkeley.

I didn't at all like being forced to pay $100 for cleaning fees when the advertised price for one night is $116. I didn't pay suffisant attention in the reservation process and noticed the cleaning fees only afterwards. Had it been more clearly advertised, I wouldn't have rented this apartment, and I truly resent having been misled by a false price advertised.

    Location is excellent

Entry digital door lock was difficult. The “tongue” doesn’t retract all the way so you had to almost force the door to open. Also could use a TV. Otherwise quite pleasant.
