The first room we were given didn't have heat. When we notified the front desk later in the evening, they provided us with a space heater. It wasn't until the following morning when we again spoke with the front desk that we were provided with a different room that thankfully this time was heated.

The inn is beautiful and I enjoyed breakfast. It was fun playing scrabble by the fire with a drink!

I can’t think of anything that was negative.

The look of the Inn, location, friendly staff, the fresh food, hot breakfast each morning, the bar with wine tasting & the amazing cheese cake. Also the fireplace was magnificent.

There was no land line in the room. And no clock in the room.

I have reviewed the beds here before. The mattress is on a wooden frame which sticks out past the edge of the mattress. My husband and I have both not seen the frame in the dark and hit our calves on it. His drew blood. Fortunatly it was not much but it hurt alot. We don't understand why they don't make the frame disappear under the mattress. I end up putting pillows and furniture near the end of the bed as a reminder.

This was the third time we have stayed at Old Settlers Inn. There is so much to like here. The food is excellent, sourced from a local farm. Antiques are charming. The staff are all extremely helpful and kind.

The bathroom door really squeaked when you open and closed it. It's not a deal breaker and an easy fix.

The frame of the bed stuck out to the point where I impaled my leg on it. The mattress is much smaller and the wood frame pieces are not protected. They are very dangerous, especially navigating them in the dark of night. Also the lack of an elevator was a potential problem for me. I did not see in the description of the hotel that it is impossible for anyone with mobility problems. One has to be able to climb stairs.

Carrie at the desk was very helpful. We asked lots of questions....questions she no doubt answers numerous times a day...and she was patient. We loved eating on the porch and the attention paid to us by our waitress. The gardens and creative and welcoming.

There were drifty cobwebs on the ceiling of my room that are common in old buildings. The shower drain was slow. I reported these concerns so hopefully it won't be an issue for the next guest. There is no elevator! Buyer beware. I could hear footfalls of the resident above me, but it didn't ruin my trip. The wifi is not secure, so I didn't bother to use it.

The included breakfast was made to order which was delightful. (I tire of reconstituted eggs at the big chains.) The staff was very gracious and helpful and accomodating. Zero complaints there. My room was spacious, though I know others are smaller. They're not all cut the same. I was grateful for the AC split in my room.

We would have loved a lift to get to the first floor as our case was heavy to get up the stairs, but it's a historic building so we totally understand why there isn't one! (next time we will pack less!) So really we liked absolutely everything. All was good.

Loved it! Fabulous staff, friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. Gorgeous reception and bar area, even Scrabble and Chess boards laid out. We didn't walk around the gardens due to lack of time, but they looked stunning from the terrace. Lots of little things to love about The Settlers Inn. Breakfast was super too.

Beautiful period property. Lovely Craftsman design. We got to see the sister hotels which were also great. We followed the waterfall tour recommended by the hotel. It was awesome. Would not have known about it otherwise. The dinner and breakfast at Settlers inn was top notch. Great wine list.

The welcoming warmness of the Manger and everyone on staff made us feel special from the moment we stepped into the impressive great room and hospitality desk. The room amenities such as the mattress, pillows, etc were extremely comfortable, clean and well appointed. The breakfast was included and we had a choice of anything on the menu! There were also activities such as yoga that we could participate in. So.. when factored in... was a good value. Totally relaxing. I love the craftsman antiques, huge fireplace, beautiful bar and grounds. I would stay again!
