A beautiful place to stay. Brendan the owner very friendly and helpful. We broke down in his small town. He helped get us a ride and get us to a garage that took care of us! Will definitely stay again in the little town of Fleishmanns NY population 205 yes 205!

I can't think of anything to be honest. No plant milks? I'm really reaching trying to find something to complain about.

The house and rooms were phenomenal. Historic, beautifully updated and decorated (incredible tile in the bathroom, original gorgeous woodwork, high end furnishings throughout but appropriate to the home's 1900-ish era). The host Brendan was very friendly, relaxed and knows the area very well and can recommend places to go and things to do. Refreshments and coffee are always available, a fancy small fridge was in the room and Brendan offered sparkling water when I was enjoying the porch.

Shadowcrest is very clean, cozy and comfortable, and we appreciated that our room had refrigerator, microwave, electric kettle and a guidebook to local spots. The owners were very friendly and gave us great recommendations to local restaurants.

Branden was very accommodating/flexible - we have a 3-month old baby and he let us use the freezer to freeze her milk container! The location was also super convenient.

Shadowcrest is a charming place to stay. The host Brendan is very welcoming, and there to answer any questions or provide assistance if needed. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and we slept great (loved the pillows). It was a nice touch to have a Continental breakfast to get your day started. We would definitely stay here again.

Our stay at Shadowcrest couldn't have been better. Room was small but very well appointed with a comfy bed, nice artwork on the walls, TV, Hot water heater and tea, etc. The bathroom was very very nice with what was probably the best shower I've ever experienced. Seriously, perfect water pressure, new fixtures, etc. Brendan the host was easily accessible by phone or text with any questions we had and he had great suggestions about what to check out around town. The town is quiet but with just enough action if you do want to go out to eat, drink, shop.

Everything was wonderful, and the magic making it such a spectacular stay was Brendan, the host himself. Not only were we warmly welcomed, he assisted us in many other ways too, making our time spent in this town in Cat Skills area enjoyable. The property has a front porch and I must say the eye for detail in the decorations (both indoors and outdoors) is impeccable! Even though the building is over a 100 years old, it has been well refurbished yet they manage to keep the authenticity of the design and furnishings intact. There is also a living room with a fireplace, great to sink onto the sofa (and enjoy a book if you like reading). The room is also lovely, with thick luxurious towels and toiletries. The room came well equipped with hot water boiler, including microwave oven. The bed was packed with extravagant pillows, cushions, beddings, so we slept very well too. As we visited in the week of Halloween, we were invited to join the joyous fun spirit of a costume party in the host's neighborhood. Brendan and partner had also won the top prize in the pumpkin creative competition. What a memorable time ! Even though when I booked the stay, there was no mention of breakfast, the property nonetheless offered a table of breakfast cereals, breads, with your hot beverages like coffee/tea/chocolate, with yoghurt and milk in the fridge.

Check-in was a bit of a problem, possibly because we booked late in the day, the sub-host on site was rather unhelpful, and we didn't gain access until around 7:30pm :-). However the main host did make amends by providing a bottle of nice wine as compensation as was very apologetic.

The premises was a nicely renovated Victorian type house with a good bathroom shower & comfy bed. Breakfast was nice, good quality pastries & coffee. Main host was cheerful & accommodating
