Dear Xue Ming, Thank you for your review and providing the comments that enable us to reply. First of all, we are glad you enjoyed the breakfast we provided. We consider the custom-ordered breakfasts that we give to our guests a very important aspect of the personal service we provide. Regarding the difficulties you encountered accessing the internet, once you reported that you were having a problem, I responded in the following manner. I personally re-entered the guest network and password for you to make sure that they were correct and saw that your computer indicated it was connected. After you called me again indicating that you still could not again access the internet, I returned to your computer and entered our personal network and password and again your computer indicated that it was connected. After I left your computer the 2nd time, I checked with every other computer in the Inn and confirmed that both networks were working and they had access to the internet. All of this took more that an hour of my time. After that, you did not inform me that there was still a problem so I was unaware until I read your review. Since your departure, I have done some research and discovered that some travelers from China have certain firewalls installed on their computer that need to be turned off before they can access the internet in the US. I recommend that you look into this situation so you do not have problems in the future. You are the only guest in five years that could not access the internet at our inn. One last item I should share with you regards something that occurred in our stairway that became apparent after you had checked out. You may remember that you had a very large suitcase and that I personally carried it up the stairs to protect both you and the antique oil paintings along the stairs. I also asked that when you checked out to contact me so I can bring your suitcase down the stairs and out to your car. Instead of you calling me, you carried your suitcase down the stairs by yourself and left our inn. When we went up the stairs to reset your room for the next guest, we found a fresh 5-inch tear in one of the oil paintings on the stairs. Even though it will cost us a substantial amount to have an archivist repair the painting, we did not follow up with you about it because it is one of those things that would be difficult to prove and we decided to be gracious about it and absorb the cost ourselves.
