How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis place felt real cozy. It may be because I was with my friends but the stay was great, breakfast was so kind, beds were so comfortable, and area was nice and quiet.

Verified reviewThe location was great It’s in a safe neighborhood, and was walking distance to my niece’wedding in Golden Gate Park.
The bathroom and shower are located in the hall, and you have to share them with two other rooms The place is very old and needs to be repainted and updated, and was somewhat run down. In addition, there is nowhere to store clothes. The closets are used for other purposes, and there is no furniture. If your’re the kind of traveler who doesn’t mind living out of your suitcase, then this place is fine, but if you like to put your clothes away, you can’t

Verified reviewVery convenient location for walking to Golden Gate Park or taking bus 28 to the Golden Gate Bridge visitor's center. Breakfast was very consistent with a nice bagel and cream cheese and packet of jam, small glass (230ml?) of apple juice, small glass of milk, cereal, and black tea packet (the room has an electric kettle). The garbage truck is a bit noisy on Tuesday morning but other than that it's a quiet street.
The air in the room can get a bit stale if you turn off the fan

Verified reviewBreakfast was nice and traditionally American, well packaged and fresh. Location was quiet and easy to find. The access to building via a code was nice. Price/quality ratio was great, despite the shared bathroom and toilet. The host was very kind in regards to leaving our luggage at the spot even after check out, because we've had a lot of time to kill before departure and didn't want to walk around with it.
The bathroom was kind of dimly lit and along with the toilet, it could use some deeper cleaning. There was some grime that could use some elbow grease and attention. I.e. the window blinds or wooden trims around the toilet. It didn't feel "nasty", but it could be better.

Verified reviewLocation was great for our trip. The room was big, beds comfortable. There is a water dispenser, kettle, coffee, sugar in the room. They delivered breakfast in the morning, bagels, cereal, milk and juice. pretty adequate.
The toilet and shower were outside, but that did not bother us. For our one night stand, we did not care about that, especially because the price was right..

Verified reviewLocation excellent, right near public transport and close to Irvine street which has heaps of restaurants and shops. Really helps you feel like a local. Nice and quiet and safe at night. Staff were accommodating as well. Highly recommend for the price.
Nothing. For what you’re paying this is great.

Verified reviewReally easy to get to from the airport, just take the train to Daly City and then the 28 bus takes u straight there. the beds are very comfy and the facilities are good. I rlly liked having the breakfast before heading out to see the sights. the 28 bus takes you right to the golden gate bridge. I rlly liked having Netflix and Disney + on our TV because we got to watch Inside Out. clean towels and a water station is provided too. also I rlly liked the lighting, you could change the setting to night mode and it had a fan.
the bathroom is shared with two other rooms, however I had no issues with this as it seemed to always be available. it's a lil noisy from the road but not enough that u can't sleep. you do need to try to be quiet as the floors creak when getting to the bathroom. I'm not sure if this was on accident but when we typed in the code wrong once it opened the door regardless, I didn't check that the door was fully closed however but it's something to look out for. the place felt very safe so I didn't worry too much.

Verified reviewNothing very impressing in particular.
When we make reservation, we have chosen and paid for a room with *** IN ROOM*** toilet and bath. We are very disappointed that this is not honored. We need to share toilet and bath with other guests.

Verified reviewConvenient location.
We were told there was a storage area for our touring bicycles inside the property, which I pictured to be in the backyard or in the garage. But we had to carry one bicycle up one flight of stairs and leave it in the foyer of the building in the other, had to carry up another flight of stairs to keep in our room. There was not have a toaster in our room to toast the bagels in the morning. There were cobwebs all around the crown molding of the room. The mattress on the bed was pretty well worn in.
