Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandFor some reason hotel WiFi does not work very well. Could be my phones fault also but there was problem to find ip-address and keeping it connected.
Very good location. Canal and spring street subway stations are 2min walking distance away. Staff was nice and helpful and there was free water bottles in a reception which was nice gesture. Traditional american hotelroom ,great bed and great air conditioning.

NetherlandsHotel is very basic, bar was closed and there were no plans to open it in the near future.
The location is perfect in the southern part of Manhattan. This was the main reason as I was on a business trip. The price was reasonable, even more so for NYC standards. Airco was functioning well which was a must during the massively hot month of July. If you are a cigar smoker there is a cigar lounge walking distance from the hotel so perfect to wind down after a hectic day in New York.

United StatesWe lived in a room near end of the hallway (the corner), so literally no wifi connection at all. Even tho we connected near the door side, we lost the signals in the room.
Very convenient location, close to subway, coffee shops, shopping and restaurants.

United StatesThe staff were amazing during our stay. I had a problem with my reservation, and they were very helpful and kind, assisting me right away. We arrived early, and they stored our luggage for us. It's also possible to store your luggage after check-out.

Russia1. quite outdated furniture and common zones. 2. mice in the coffee area…at some point homeless person came in asking for money within this common area, which also raises questions of security unfortunately. 3. no proper ‘hotel’ like blankets, only like a plush cover by request.

GreeceThe room needs a partial renovation. Several spots in the bathroom need maintenance , on the curtains some stains and the carpet needs to be replaced. But is still an alomst value for money hotel.A decent hotel with polite and friendly employees in a good area in NY and next to 2 different metro lines.

United StatesThe key to our door did not work properly. Had to try several times before it would unlock.
Great views and plenty of water bottles at front desk to stay hydrated. Also, it was nice to be able to check bags at the front desk given the late departure from the city.

United StatesThis hotel has a gym but no other real amenities to speak of. This has not bothered us at all as our stays have been one night only. I think they have a bar but we have not visited it.
We have stayed here 3 Thursdays in the last month and are very happy we found SoHo54. The location in SoHo is excellent for our concerts at The Bitter End in NoHo. The price is excellent for a quick run into NYC overnight. The staff is always pleasant, the rooms are clean and larger than many we have stayed in in NYC for 3 times more. They have bottled water available at the desk that you can take any time you are going in or out. Complimentary coffee is also available 24/7. We have stayed there for $137 taxes included. Obviously, prices vary but if you are looking for a clean, no frills room with a comfortable bed and nice shower, SoHo54 will meet your expectations. I don't know if I would want to stay there for a week but overnight to go to a concert in that area...SoHo54 is the perfect hotel for us.

CanadaMy room was opposite a business center, so I had to keep my blinds shut when changing or lightly dressed. The traffic might be a little bit busy even during a night hours, but hey, that's Manhattan.
Location was good - very safe with lots of nice restaurants and cafe nearby. Two subway stations not very far. Staff was friendly - they checked me in early without any issues. Room service was fine as well - they cleaned the room every day even when I left the room later in the day.

United StatesThere was an issue with the air conditioning. There was an engineer in my room moments after texting the front desk. A fan was also delivered to our room. SoHo54 does an excellent job with guest service. One of our 2 NYC go to hotels.
Location was perfect for our show at The Bitter End. Staff at SoHo54 go above and beyond. We have stayed there twice in the last month and will be returning for stay #3 Thursday. Price can’t be beat.

United StatesThe towels were old, and there was mold in the bathroom grout
I booked a Tribeca King room, which is located on the upper floors. We had a huge room — 1704 — with a window that opened, so we could get some fresh air. One entire side of the room was floor-to-ceiling windows. The room wasn’t just big, it was massive. In addition to the bed, there was a sofa, two tables, and still plenty of open space. The furniture was a bit dated, and there was some mold in the bathroom grout, but everything worked and the bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and welcoming. They I liked everything! SoHo is a beautiful neighborhood — I’d love to live there someday.
