How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI liked the centralized location and the quiet clean rooms. On street parking in Detroit is actually free after 10 pm so I did not use any paid lots.
The verification process to gain entry was a bit difficult this time and I had to actually call to clarify identity. It was annoying and confusing.

Verified reviewLocation superb for everything we needed to attend our friends wedding. So spacious and well appointed, full fridge, dishwasher, fantastic views. Directly opposite Westin hotel, convenience store within 5 minutes walk. Would highly recommend
Needed a mirror and additional power socket in bedroom so I could do my hair & makeup while my husband was using bathroom. Roku instructions a little confusing but we got there in the end :)

Verified reviewLovely apartment which had everything, even a washer and dryer. Really nice. Bathroom was great, clean with all bathroom needs. Kitchen was amazing. I loved it. Very close to everything in the city.
My room was right next to the noisy elevator. Didn't notice until bedtime. It rattled like a roller coaster. There was lots of noise from people on my floor. Sounded like a party. Loud music. Very unacceptable. However after 11pm there was no noise. In the morning, housekeeping employees talked so loudly to each other when they're working. They should lower their voices. Outside the Sonder it was a bit scary. Lots of people hanging about outside smoking weed. But once I was inside I felt completely safe. The code on the door and my room worked really well.

Verified reviewLocation to downtown.
It was extremely loud. Not from other units or quests, but street noise. The cars and motorcycles were blaring music (cannot stress how loud) until 2-3 am every night - then dead silent.

Verified reviewLike having an access code to get in and in your room same number. The location is amazing AMAZING view.
The blinds were see through so when going to sleep in the living room if I can slightly see out that means others in the surrounding hotel can see in. So we didn’t have alot of lights on when it was night. Having it be so bright in the morning when we still trying to sleep was annoying. They should change how the living room blinds are. Also the bedroom the wall didn’t go all the way up that was very weird. We noticed when we looked up towards ceiling that there’s no wall all the way to the ceiling lol hard to describe but you can have your bedroom door closed and throw sumthin over from the hallway and it’ll land in the room. If that makes sense. From the top of door to ceiling they did not complete the wall to separate your room from hallway. Very weird.

Verified reviewThere wasn’t much to like about the property.
So there is no parking for your own apartment. The building is completely disgusting and muggy terrible fixes on the ceiling in the room with water damage and smell of mildew. Elevator sounded like it was about to fall apart. The abandon building underneath smells like pure urine and the so called view of the city was actually a view of back alley and empty broke down parking lot where tons of homeless people and drug addicts are literally doing drugs in which I know it’s a big city but still for what I paid for was not what I was promised and I’m not ok with it. Back to the parking. When I was leaving I had to Get all my bags so I pulled in the front spot of the building (there are 2 spots to park) went to The third floor got my bags came down and was getting a ticket for parking outside my hotel to grab my bags. Zero service and not worth the price I paid… very disappointed this was even an option that building need condemned

Verified reviewGreat location to sporting events, river walk, downtown restaurants. Nice to have a kitchen for morning coffee which was provided. Washer and dryer were good, bed was comfortable. It is next to the bus station with some people lingering nearby but folks seemed harmless.
Bedding and linens were worn and duvet had dirt marks. Shower very small, no hangers in closet. Light out in ceiling fan. The code key fixture could use more light at night.
