Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThere is a step to enter with no rail or ramp. Handicap entrance was around the back through a restaurant. It was awkward and the employees were grumpy about me going through to get to the Hotel.

AustraliaThe staff weren’t particularly helpful, there was no coffee and tea in the room nor communal coffee and tea facilities. It was fine for us, but there is no lift so be aware of that if you have heavy luggage. The bed was a small queen.
The hotel is well located in Sonoma, right on the square. it is very cosy and sweet. Parking was a breeze.

United States of AmericaNot a dislike, but it was no frills! No coffee, no water. Literally just a nice place to sleep. It isn't staffed 24 hours so if you need anything it's challenging.
Perfect location for Sonoma tasting rooms and restaurants!

United States of Americawe didn't have a breakfast. And waiting until 7 for coffee was difficult. I would have been nice to have a coffee maker in the room. We're all early risers. We didn't need pastries or anything but had to went to breakfast on the square at 8.

United States of AmericaWe had no complaints. I could see how folks used to more modern hotels might not like having to take the stairs.
Absolutely perfect location in Sonoma square next to the girl and the fig restaurant. Our room was above the bar, but we sleep with a fan and white noise app, so it didn’t bother us at all! It’s an old building, as sone have mentioned, so don’t expect a modern, state of the art space. This place is charming with lovely antiques, it’s clean, the bathroom had a cool claw foot tub, and the beds were very comfortable. You can walk all around the square to shop, eat, and wine taste (lots of tasting rooms around the square!), so for us, it was all about the location and having a comfy bed to sleep in. The price was excellent. We would absolutely stay at this charming place again!

United States of AmericaMany small items needed repair. Toilet roll holder was falling out of the drywall. Sink fixture was loose enough to move easily by hand. Bathroom fan was squeaky old, and couldn't be kept on for long periods.
Outstanding location right by Sonoma Plaza. The staff was friendly.

United States of AmericaYou do need to alert them ahead of time when you are arriving as there are no staff manning the front desk. We pinged them an hour before arrival and they had someone there to give us keys, and explain the layout. Not a detractor, just something to know.
Great little hotel right on the square. I managed to get a very reasonably priced room the day before the 4th of July since we wanted a night away. The location (and hotel) exceeded expectations. The hotel has an incredible atmosphere and cozy rooms. We were able to step out the door and run into excellent dining/wine tasting. Would highly recommend for couples looking for a quick weekend away. We will be back as soon as we can!

CanadaWe are great fans of the Sonoma Plaza. This hotel is right on the corner of the plaza and so everything around the Plaza is within walking distance. There is a fabulous restaurant in the ground floor of the hotel and we had an excellent dinner on their patio.

United States of AmericaThe only problem is the very loud hum of the industrial fan belonging to the (very excellent!) restaurant next door. They turn the fan off at 10:30 p.m. or so, but if you're in the room before that the noise is very unpleasant.
Breakfast not available at the hotel. The location is superb.
