Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Bed was a bit smushy, though we recognize that this is a subjective area. Also we didn’t quite understand ahead that this was a basement studio with very little outside light.
It’s cleanliness and order was exceptional

Absolutely beautiful site in the hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Very quiet. Very nice outdoor spots for hanging out. Very comfortable bed, linens. Great attention from manager.

We liked everything
The unit was very clean. We loved the location and setting. All amenities we needed were provided, even water bottles in the refrigerator. This was an excellent rental!

This is a beautiful little gem hidden right there in plain sight. The whole experience was delightful. Sonsak, has paid attention to every detail. Our host was exceptional. I’ll be back and stay longer

The appliances are brand new and clean. It had everything that is needed to be cozy and comfortable. Comfortable bed. Nice coffee and tea amenities. Nice bathroom, climate control with air purifiers. The door locks and keyless entry.

Accessing the unit was flawless. The check-in instructions were detailed and specific. Everything was as described. My husband was pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. The bottle of wine was a great host gift and much appreciated after 5-6 hour drive. The host was very responsive.

We were in unit 5 which is basically under ground level and has a small window in the kitchen. Heard every step of the people staying above. Bed was a Murphy bed. Small for two adults.
Very clean and well appointed. Bottled water and a bottle of wine.

Room is a little dark due to being underground. There is a small window in bathroom and kitchen area, but only bring inminimal light. Lots of overhead lighting.
Very clean, updated room. Enjoyed the gas fire pit on the cool evenings. Quite close to Monticello and Highland estates. Also nearby walking trails.

There are very few windows in the room.
There was pleny of water and a bottle of wine upon arrival. The kitchen was fully stocked and the bathroom too. It was a wonderful stay!

The studio was small but so well equipped and laid out that it was very comfortable for a few nights. The location was exceptional for visiting Monticello, going into town and Skyline Drive. Such a pretty mountain setting but very close to town. The outdoor amenities (swings, etc.) with views were nice for relaxing after a busy day.

I wish we could have checked in earlier and turning left into the property was a little scary, but it was worth it to feel so far from the city.
The location across from Michies Tavern was spectacular. The amenities, including laundry, were wonderful. It was quiet and gave you the feeling of being in the country, not right outside Charlottesville.

Could hear footsteps clearly above us but it was not too disruptive.
Everything was amazing! Only thing, is the entrance is a little confusing. Entering the driveway, if you’re not used to the area, it looks like it takes you off the edge of the road and you just have to trust the driveway was there lol but that’s just how to roads were made, nothing to do with the property really so I give it 5 stars!!

Only complaint isn’t the owners fault , but turning onto Jefferson Lake road from Jefferson highway is tricky .
Very modern and comfy . Lots of little extra’s , coffee,water, towels , Great location !
